Sox trade for LaRoche from the pirates, basically, a completely unesscessary move that will do absolutely nothing to change the way the team plays.

Bucholz will now be a regular starter for a while as wakefield goes on his annual summer DL trip. Good. Sox need some fresh blood, they look old and tired, especially the middle of the order with ortiz bay and drew, although Mike Lowell, perhaps the oldest and tiredest, has hit .429 since coming off his DL stint. Perhaps a good performance from Bucholz tonight can spark the team [and hey, getting out of texas would help too 3.gif]. Although Beckett was brilliant last night and got the loss...

IMO, there's no reason why the Brewers shouldn't beat Pittsburgh, they've won what?  18 out of the last 19?44.gif  The Brewers need to beat the teams in their own division, especially teams like Pittsburgh19.gif, if they can't, they won't win the division or even get a wild-card.28.gif  Early on, they were handing the CD it's hind end on a platter,10.gif had a decent home/road record, but then hit the breaks the last couple of weeks before the AS break.14.gif   They also have to be able to beat Philly, LA, [the NL powerhouses this season],19.gif SF, COL and whoever else outside the division that's a  poses a threat to a wild-card spot .29.gif  I'm hoping they find their groove again and start kicking *** and taking numbers.9.gif  My goodness, they have the offense to score runs in bunches, big bunches44.gif

I am a Brewers fan too by the way19.gif...I do live in Wisconsin ya know18.gif

Do you think that was an overuse of smileys42.gif

ha, well I beleive that we are maybe a player or two from being great though...

Rickie Weeks is unfortunately injured and that does not help at all, and it seems the Brewers don't feel like scoring every time Yovani pitches  7.gif

but they still have the offense to get it done...

I remember about a month back they were down by 7 my math didn't add up, they were down by 5 I beleive, Twice and won 14-12 I remember my dad and my sister stopped watching that game and I had to tell them both times that the Brewers came back... although I do find it sad that my mom and sister do not like my favorite two teams but the Brewers more (I am in love with Green Bay Packers and the Marquette golden Eagles...)

Well, they must have really hit the pavement because I just noticed they lost again to the Pirates today 8-7. Not good, not good at all. This is the worse collapse of this team I've seen since before they became a serious contender. I tell ya, hope things turn around quick, times running out....

The brewers need an ace other than Gallardo. Halladay anybody? Although Gallardo is one of the best ace names ever.

Just wanted to point this out: Look at all the young guns in the NL West...Cain, Lincecum, Bumgartner, Kershaw, Billingsley, also Haren is still very young for the diamondbacks....

The only other division with anything near that is the AL east with Lester, Bucholz, Price, That Guy On The Yankees Who Is Always Supposed to Have A Breakout Year But In Reality WIll Probably Go Down In History As the Guy Who Let Up Four Consecutive Homers To The Sox [Phil Hughes], Garza, Kasmir, Bowden, and Future Ace Recieved In Roy Halladay Trade.

Don't know much about Bumgartner, but the others I do know.  Lincecum is already a Cy Young winner, Cain is damn near as good as Lincecum and they're on the same team.  Billingsley is not far behind those two in dominating the league while Kershaw is another year or two away.  Only time will tell10.gif

Best thing about the red sox is that they have their own tv channel so they are always on hehe. 0-0 ballgame at the moment bucholz looks good but offense as usual is miserable so far. they almost got things going with an ortiz base hit and jd drew walk but bay lined out on bad luck [hit it hard but to kinsler] and varitek hit a fairly good ball but towards Marlon Byrd.

O yea and his last name is bumgarner my bad....new it was something abouts bums haha.

Yes they realy screw you over on those TV packages sometimes, even if you have the MLB package you still cant get some teams games.

Say's their "blacked out" in your area. I had noticed they did it with some NHL games this season.

The Reds jumped out to a 1-0 lead after a 1/2 inning, but Either tied it up with one swing of the bat for #20 on the year. Manny is sitting with a bruised hand from being hit by a pitch in the 3rd inning last night. Should be back in the line-up on Friday....

well bruised hand is an upgrade over "hamstring issues".

Looks like Texas outpitched Boston again.

You know your ruined when you get outpitched by Texas. At least go down the honorable way, by getting slugged to death from michael young and kinsler.

Bucholz was pretty good, I feel bad for him that the bats are such crap and ruined his outing. Offday tomorrow, thank god....

2GB of the yankees, as long as we are always within 3 games back we will win the division, because the yankees can't win against us haha.

You mean the Cubs managed to win a game?  Good thing I was sitting down3.gif...  Well, don't know about a sore hand or not, but Manny had a pinch-hit grand slam to untie the game in the sixth inning and give the Dodgers the lead at 6-2, which ended up being the final score.  Dodgers head into their day off tomorrow and will be going fishing this weekend with a 61-34 record when the Marlins flip-flop into town.18.gif

first time the sox have been sweeped all year. They are limping back to fenway. LaRoche will be waiting for him, the equivalent of that scene in lord of the rings II where gandolf comes with all the calvery, only this time gandolf is a leper and there are two horses, one of which is missing a few legs.

since the sox gave up nothing in the lugo/laroche trades [none of those minor leagues will be in the MLB probably] word is they are gearing up for a halladay trade, and last night was an audition for bucholz. I think he did pretty well, he made some of those good texas hitters look downright awful with some pitchers, he just couldn't control it enough [ a lot of walks and that hbp]. A halladay trade and sign would give the sox a beckett, halladay, lester rotation, perhaps the best in baseball, and then the sox could pick and chose between bowden, matzusaka, penny, wakefield, and masterson for the 4 and 5 spots. Not bad. darn newspaper rumors...gettin my hopes up 3.gif

I haven't watched baseball in ages... I think I stopped after the 2006 season?

Anyways, I have to be cheering for the Red Sox. They're just getting murdered this year. I didn't even know we lost Manny Ramirez until just now.

Well, no wonder we're sucking so bad!3.gif

    I shouldn't say that, it's a tragic loss.15.gif

Well, I still don't know what's going on. Maybe I will after watching a few games.

I'm still more of a NASCAR guy. Why don't we have a Nascar thread?

Whatever. Everyone seems to say that. I'll keep my opinions, you can keep your's.

Also, you misspelled 3 words in an 8 word sentence fragment. Shame.

Also, your post didn't keep with the spirit of the thread. Nowhere did you mention baseball! Double Shame.

Are there any good baseball games on today? Doesn't look like the Red Sox are playing. Rays/White Sox, is that any good? I can guess the outcome of Athletics/Yankees. How about Padres and Phillies?

Also, kind of a stupid question, but are NY Mets baseball or football?

    NY Mets are baseball.

    NY Jets are NFL Football.

As for Nascar, you right that is  only my opinion.

It'll be interesting to see if the White Sox can ride the momentum that Buehrle just started for them with the act of perfetion today. That catch made in the 9th was the definite play of the day, saved the perfect game, no-hitter and shut-out.

That was a brilliant catch, worthy of play of th e day even if it had not saved the perfect game.

Thats his 2nd Ho hiter too, only 5 more to catch Nolan.
