The Baseball Union ( Player) would never allow a salary cap.

Unless the economy got so bad that teams were closing down.

Right, but I don't see baseball shutting down anytime soon, or any team for that matter.  Not with attendance going up this year.  During economic times like this, the masses flock to the theaters and to sporting events to take thir minds off the real world woes.  So no fear of baseball drying up and withering away20.gif

Nah i meant the devil smiley. Is it mad? or is it a grin?

Its seems to be a mad face turning into a grin face. Perhaps its Kenny Rodgers/Randy Johnson before and after punching a camera man? [had to make this post have something to do with baseball]

I seriously wish the rangers would learn to generate runs rather then relying on the homeruns.

Hmm CJ closes them out. 6-3 rangers. WHOOO 44.gif

A rather nice win for Mid July, although it was a pleasent day today only in the low 80's most of the day.

    Sox were trash tonight

    Bay was trash tonight

    Smoltz is always trash.

Trash trash trash. 3 game losing streak, tied for the longest all year. Haven't seen beckett in almost a week too. They need a turn around quick, we are tied again with the yankees and only a few weeks till we meet them in the bronx.

I guess it's my turn to chime in.  At the moment, LA is up 7-3 over the Reds at the end of 6.  Jason Schmidt pitchd pretty well in his return, going 5 innings, 3 runs on 5 hits.  James McDonald relieved Schmidt in the 6th and has retired 6 in a row on 18 pitches, 12 of them for strikes.  We now have Martin, Ramirez and Either due up, a combined 5h-8ab with a HR and 4rbi's...

EDIT:  ....they ended up winning 7-5 and taking their record to 59-34 and increasing thier lead in the west to 8 & 8.5 over CO and SF...

Sox down 2-1 at the moment, Beckett has been pitching great as he has for months now but the offense can't get a run. Pathetic, considering they are facing Tommy Hunter, a mediocre fat rookie who looks like hes 16.

Don't know what is going on with them. This whole rangers series has been kinda meh, I was hoping for a shootout, considering the firepower the rangers have, but neither game so far has been that exciting. Usually sox rangers is one of the best series out there.

    harsh. ha.

I posted but it did not show up,

It did, I just missed it, now I deleted it...

Braden Looper pitched 7 innings allowed 4 hits and zero runs...

The Brewers ended up winning 2-0

Trevor Hoffman picks up his 21st save (maybe 22nd)?

I'm just enjoying the thumping the Dodgers are putting on the Reds at the moment. It's 9-1 Dodgers in the bottom half of the 4th...

Good to see the Brewers finally win a game, and krypto, you should be glad Texas isn't having an offensive shoot-out, gotta keep that team ERA down...

Game finally ended with LA crushing the Reds 12-3.  So far in the first 2 games of this 3-game series, the Dodgers are batting .353 [12-68], with 19 runs scored.  First 4-game winning streak since late May.  Also, they lead the Yankees by 3.5G for best record in baseball44.gif LA  is now 60-34 vs the Yankees 56-37.  Dodgers should be able to bring the brooms to the ball park tomorrow and sweep the Reds right on out the door without to much of an issue21.gif

ha, I love that broom reference, they sell those at games where the Brewers can sweep an opponent...

Brewers are only two GB but now there are three teams tied for 2nd...

Yankees take 1st place in the AL east! Mitre did pretty well for the Yankees! This is when baseball starts to get more exciting I think, as we near the trade deadline and more into the second half of the season.
