It's probably not my place, but seeing as I'm pretty unskilled when it comes to manually editing the USGS data, I was simply curious if I could make any requests to you for any regions.

Totally understand if things are busy though...

Wow, Burns is certainly a pleasant surprise out of left field.  Now you've really got me wondering what other Oregon maps are in the pipeline... 42.gif  Also, great job on that Eugene map from a few days ago, I've already started building on it.

Glad you liked the Eugene map and are developing it.  Hope it gives you many hours upon hours of enjoyment.  As to your question about what else in Oregon I've mapped, well, I could tell you what they are, but that would spoil the fun of finding out day by day2.gif  Anyways, I think you'll like this next one in the series19.gif

Ok, the Burns Oregon map is now available on the STEX.  Here is what's on tap for tomorrow...

Sorry it took me so long to respond.  Well, I was curious what might you want to limit yourself to or anything.  Like, just the Pacific Northwest? The whole lower 48? Beyond that?

I have some ideas, but I just don't want to request something incredibly exotic.

The only limit I have is anything below sea level [New Orleans, Denmark, places like that] and what I can get DEM data for.  Basically anywhere on the planet except for the very northern and very southern lattitudes.  If you look at the opening post in this thread, you'll find links to all 200+ maps I've released to the STEX.44.gif  Right now, the maps I'm uploading have been done and sitting on my pc for nearly a year now which is why I'm releasing them state by state.19.gif

So, what can I get for ya?9.gif

I would like to know if you are willing to help a fellow mapper figure out the proccess of transfering my DEM maps to usable maps into terraformer The tut is no longer there and I am ready and finally got a computer that can handle this. I have already released two maps but I made them manually. The latest one I help a road map next to my computer and started on a blank in Terraformer. I have done it before but I have forgotten how and I want to get started.

    Thank you

Well, given where I'm from and that I'm pretty sure that the STEX doesn't have an "official" version, I was curious if you had or could make one of Pittsburgh, PA and the surrounding metro region.  Something like 20 km square approx. I guess.  I think it would be a great challenge for most players because of the areas CONSTANT rolling hills, as opposed to straight-er mountain ranges/peaks.

I suppose if I come up with other region ideas, I should check the STEX first and then if not there, ask you about it?

A-Ha!  You're in luck.29.gif  I have a Pittsburgh map somewhere on my HD and will be releasing it soon.44.gif  Problem is, I have to find it.  It's not located where it should be [my mapping folder is massive with over 4gigs worth of finished and unfinished maps], but I know it's there hiding somewhere9.gif

EDIT: Found it buried deep within my uploaded folder and will be releasing it tomorrow [Friday]44.gif  Pics to come later today after Hunnington Oregon has been released.

Not sure where to put this, but this seems like the most active NHP thread so... I was trying to install the NHP 'Acatepec' map but SC4 Mapper doesn't work on my computer, so I've always used SC4 Terraformer. The thing is the 'Acatepec' download on the STEX doesn't seem to have a bitmap.config file so SC4T won't open the file. I wanted to know if there was another way I could install the map, or if someone at NHP could send me the bitmap for Acatepec. Thanks!

Ahh, what a refreshing sight to behold!

Awesome job, I think the region has a very unique terrain in that there's not really any particularly tall moutains or peaks, but instead hills that appear to roll on forever.  I'd love to see what people could do with it, I'm just not so sure "I" could do anything good with it because I'm still pretty "fresh" at the game and terrain is not that easy to work with in SC4 it seems.

    But anyway, can't wait!

Ah, man. I was excited to see Pittsburgh after requesting it in the map request thread, but I see it was requested here too...I thought that was too extrordinarily fast to be true...

Is there any chance you have Minneapolis-St Paul buried somewhere in your hard drive too?

@blade2k5 - It looks brilliant. While I am a fan of more island like maps this one looks fantastic.

I haven't downloaded a new map in ages so I might give this one a go when it comes out.

Considering that you have just released maps of Pittsburgh, Lexington, and Louisville, is there any chance that you will do a map of Columbus, OH? (as it lies between Pittsburgh and the two Kentucky cities) Doing Columbus would be nice, as no good quality SC4 map exists for that region. And maybe when you get to Ohio, you could also do maps of Cleveland, Dayton, and Toledo. In addition, if you decide to do Ohio after Kentucky, Cincinnati would make for an excellent first map, as part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area lies in Kentucky.

Anyhow, I do enjoy the maps that you are releasing. Keep up the good work!

Lets see now, Columbus Ohio.  Done.2.gif  Cincinnati.  Done.2.gif  Cleveland.  Done.2.gif  Dayton & Toledo added to my to-do list19.gif as well as Youngstown and a few others perhaps.  I have one more Kentucky map to go after Louisville, then I have a few odds and ends to release.  I think after that, I can get those Ohio maps released for you44.gif
