Carradine, McMahon, Fawcett, Jackson, and Mays - five in one month, four in the last week. Tragic. A friend of mine predicted George Takei would be next, but he was probably joking. Unfortunately Cronkite sounds realistic, perhaps not in a matter of days, but he's 92, and I sadly doubt he has much longer, maybe a few years at most.

but Billy Mays??

any word yet what the cause was?

He was way too young.

Are you joking? I just saw him on Conan the other day and he seemed fine!! What a shock!

---

Been reading up a few things and TMZ says:

TMZ has confirmed TV pitchman Billy Mays was found dead today in his home in Tampa, Florida early this morning.

According to the Tampa PD, the 50-year-old TV pitchman was found unresponsive by his wife Deborah at 7:45 AM.

TMZ has learned Mays' body has already been removed from his home.

Mays had just returned from Philadelphia, where he shot a new OxiClean commercial. He was a passenger aboard a plane that suffered a blown front tire upon landing. He told a local TV station, "All of a sudden as we hit you know it was just the hardest hit, all the things from the ceiling started dropping. It hit me on the head, but I got a hard head."quote>

This is the weirdest thing I've heard..wow..

Similiar to what happened to Natasha Richardson. Not as dramatic as a ski fall but perhaps the same kind of head injury.

Wow... this has been quite the week. It's so sad to see them die so young. Man, it sure is going to be weird not seeing Billy Mays pitching products anymore.

He was on that plane that landed with the flat tire.

Apparently he hit his head.

Could have been a slow bleed?

Wow. I thought MJ would be last...but wait! There's more...

I liked his show Pitchmen a lot and am wondering whether they will continue it with just Sully. And will they keep showing the commercials he made? You'd think they'd use someone who's living out of respect.

people just die... it is just way too sad. we all hate it, but we ourselfs must be ready to die. are you ready to die???

I don't think it would be e bleed at all, it probably wasn't related. I f it was, it probably damaged his brain. he was found dead at 7:45 AM this morning.

Sad. 15.gif(

no....nooooo....this cannot happen. Let it be known that BIlly Mays was my absolute hero and in Marketing I put his product with "billy mays seal of approval" on every single one of my projects. I hope they give the shamwow guy a full criminal investigation, I know he was pretty jealous of billy mays's awesomeness.

R.I.P

That was certainly unexpected. I didn't realize he was from McKees Rocks... that's just over the river from me. He seemed healthy to me. I saw a couple episodes of Pitchmen and he looked alright on Conan.

Pitchman was my favorite show on discovery channel that and Myth busters but now how are they suppose to have the show? Sullivan can't do the show all by him self

Supposedly he hit his head on a  plane that blew a tire on landing, thrown into the seat infront of him. It may be one of those wierd concusion injurys that didnt manisfest any pain but did internal damage.

Thanks HamterTK  44.gif for the Natasha Richardson, reference. I couldnt remember were i heard of something similar happening before.

Patrick Swazy is not doing well at all.

My dad was a paramedic and he could tell you stories of car wreck victims who walk away, only to die at home a few hours later.

Generally it's a good idea to go to a clinic if you hurt yourself, they might recommend visiting the hospital and you can avoid this fate. I guess this is an argument for having health insurance
