Yes! 39.gif Another win! 39.gif But:

Injury Report: June Isle's Rolston out 5 weeks with a sore elbow.

What the... 47.gif42.gif 5 weeks (7 games) for a sore elbow 32.gif My best center too... 15.gif

I need a center, the stats don't matter, I've only have 3 center (that trade deal did bite me in the back!)

    Day 16

    Today's results:

    heramiwinner1dd.jpg

Amiton comes up with a big win over Hersonburg to take the CentralWest lead.
Injury Report: Hersonburg's Hyvonen should return soon after recovering from a broken arm.

    athcorwinner4wl.jpg

    Athena's Wingers clobber the 86ers.
Injury Report: Cortezlynn City's Kravchuk out 8 weeks with a severe rib strain.

    bufnbmwinner6so.jpg

This was a big game between two talented teams. They finally battled to a draw and both remain near the top of the league.

    empregwinner8wh.jpg

Emporia showed a lot of spunk against the Vikings as they realize they need to start winning games to stay in contention, but they lost a heart-breaker in overtime. Reggratta is riding high after toppling Sutherland in their previous game but this close game should be a wake-up call that they can't just relax and rest on their laurels.

    stcroywiinner0cq.jpg

The Aristocrats come out on top of another overtime game.
Injury Report: Royal Port's Sim should return soon after recovering from an abdominal pull.

    prnsutwinner0en.jpg

Sutherland clearly came into this game a litle off kilter after their first loss earlier in the week against Reggratta. The Stars pulled it together to take the game to overtime, but Pern came out on top and pulled further ahead in their division. Sutherland is still doing quite well in the rankings, a testament to the lead they built in their early winning streak.

    O ya

    Stingers got served.

Next time the flippas are going for your queen!

The crowd of loyal fans, who had much trouble getting through customs in Sephora, (infact many Arcadian fans were denied entry due to ???!) was happy to sing the Arcadian anthem So long and thanks for all the fish at the end of the game. It was rumored that the day after the game many sephora fans packed up and moved to Arcadian cause Arcadian hockey is the best!

Hopefully we'll meet again in the playoffs before you head to the big tank at Sea World for the off-season.

Heres the newest photo of my city, during the winter:

    downtown2bn.jpg

As you can see, my nightlighting doesn't work (and I installed all the patches)

After I build that baseball stadium, a blimp appeared:

    blimp7jg.jpg

At first, when heading to the Aon Tower, many painc, for fear of a terroist attack. Turn out the operator was drunk, and thought that the prank would be funny. No damage was done, just bounced off and into the sea. He's serving 5 years for basicity, and being a idoit.

Just a reminding, I need a center, atleast 70+, all deal will be considered.

    Mayor is Mad!
    By Sean Brown

    CITY HALL
    SECTION A
    CORTEZLYNN CITY, 12:34 PM

Mr. Cortez, the mayor of Cortezlynn, after visiting the bomb-out shells of the fomer elite Pinehurst neighborhood, talked to the Department of Public Safety Secretary David Marcello, and the Department of Transportation Secretary James Corbin on the damning preformace made by thier departments on escorting citizens away from the neighborhood.

No one were killed, but thousands were injured when word of the city's hockey team, the 86'ers, lost to the Wingers, Athena Furiae's hockey team, which match was held there. Word quickly spread around the city, further crippliing the wounded ego of the 86'ers, and the people who love them.

Sports fans, drunk off rage (and beer and other liquors), broke windows, looted stores, overturned cars, and vandalized many public transit vehicles, including a 8-car train.

The Department of Transportation, for the first time since the hockey team was created, demanded that key stations in the CCMT system would be closed. The Brandy Park Station, a major station connecting four of the five lines to each other closed, as well as Amarachi Hotel, K Street, Soda Avenue, 8th Street, Union Station, West Street, Holly Place, and Pinehurst, to protect property.

The Cortezlynn Police Department took hours to go to the rioted areas, the largest being Pinehurst. Once there, the police were forced to sit there while fans tired themselves out.

The mayor was not pleased of the performance of these two departments, and says that it is a strange lapse in their normally admorable performance. Many people were fired and suspended without pay.

Many people in the city not only have to deal with a hurt ego, but must now rebuild thier reputations; many tourists agree that Cortezlynn is no longer the nicest and most organized place on earth.

EDIT: Just to let everyone know, I am not mad at the outcome, I still like the hockey team, and the SHL in general...but please dear sporting god, please let me win once!!!

Wow! [:0] I never thought there'd be riots over this.

Well, best of luck. May your players score soft goals and your opponents be stricken with peculiar injuries. Except when you play the Stingers. 11.gif

    Day 17

    Today's featured game:

The Strawberry City Scorpions hosted the Arcadian Fighting Flippers tonight at the Red Rig Trucking Arena.

Strawberry City is a growing city with a population of 780,789 citizens.  Strawberry City, located on a large island, is the capital city of the Dominion of Salopia and is in the Crystal region, which has a population of over 2 million people according to the last Census.

Strawberry City has always been a sporting town with 9 stadiums for soccer, hockey, baseball and football.  The city went into a frenzy with the announcement that the Scorpions would be joining the new Simtropolis Hockey League.  All around the city, in bars, cafes and homes, the talk is how the Scorpions will do in the coming season.  Sales of memorabilia have gone through the roof along with the sales of season tickets.

The Fighting Flippers showed up in town hoping to extend their run of wins against stinging bugs. The Scorpions had other ideas.

The game began with a lot of energy, but the first period didn't see any scoring. Much of the second period was the same, and it seemed like this game might be a real snoozer. Executives with the SHL's television partners began to wonder about their decision to air this game for a national audience.

Then, in a few action packed minutes in the second period, everything changed. First at 10:39, Arcadian's Huselius scored a quick goal on a power play.

    affsbc011ig.jpg
^^^The puck flies into the Strawberry City goal.

Just 30 seconds later, Arcadian added a nearly identical goal from nearly the same spot. It seemed the Fighting Flippers had found the goalie's blind spot. Suddenly the scoreless game was 2-0 Flippers.

But just two minutes later, the Scorpions struck back, with Modano sinking a power play goal at 12:59.

    sbcgoal2ux.gif
^^^The Scorpions weren't about to give up.

Another minute after that, and Hull landed a goal for Strawberry City to tie the game up.

    affsbc023qj.jpg
^^^Hull goes top shelf as Khabibulin drops, expecting a low shot.

It was an amazing few minutes and both teams played out the rest of the period conservatively.

The third period started slowly, but Arcadian found some room and took it to the net at 4:14.

    affsbc036mp.jpg
^^^Allison threads the needle, deftly angling the puck between the goalie's left side and the post.

Arcadian was able to hold off the Scorpions to the end of the period and the small but vocal group of Arcadian fans who'd travelled to Strawberry City tossed berries onto the ice as they chanted Flippas, Flippas!

Game over, the Flippas had won. But somebody forgot to tell the Scorpions, who sunk a goal into net with just 18 seconds left in the game to force an overtime.

    affsbc044vh.jpg
^^^The Scorpions take advantage of Arcadian's confidence that the game was over.

The teams battled for another five minutes in overtime but neither was able to come away with the win.

    affsbcwinner9en.jpg

    Scoring summary:
    1st none
    2nd AFF Huselius (PP) 10:39
                (Gonchar)
          AFF Handzus 11:08
                (Orszagh, Lumme)
          SBC Modano (PP) 12:59
                 (Khavanov, Klemm)
          SBC Hull 14:18
                 (Satan, Modano)
    3rd AFF Allison 4:14
                (Huselius, Gonchar)
          SBC Hull 19:42
                 (Modano, Khavanov)

    Three stars
First Star: SBC Modano, 1 goal, 2 assists
Second Star: SBC Hull, 2 goals
Third Star: AFF Huselius, 1 goal, 1 assist

    Other games played tonight:

    ryufrifinal8xm.jpg

Another game forced into overtime ending in a tie. Ryushuka can afford it and stay at the top of their division, but Friverton really needs to make a move to break out of the middle of theirs.

    arcdevwinner2ow.jpg

Devonshire takes a loss at home at the hands of the Coyotes.
Injury Report: Devonshire's Belanger out 2 weeks with a lower back strain.

    ilisatwinner4dn.jpg

Saturna was able to take the lead and hold off Ilitj to claim at regulation win.

    rudtrifinal8qo.jpg

Rude and Trimblelina fight to the third draw of the night. Sadly this and another tie earlier in the season amount to the Bruins' best performances thus far. Trimblelina is doing well in points but is in a tough division.

Thank You for the Continued Support!

Simtropolis depends on donations to fund site maintenance costs.
Without your support, we just would not be in our 24th year online!  You really help make this a great community. *:thumb:

But we still need your support to stay online. If you're able to, please consider a donation to help us stay up and running. This helps sustain a platform where we can share our community creations for years to come.

    STEX Collections

By way of a "Thank You" gift, we'd like to send you our STEX Collector's DVD. It's some of the best buildings, lots, maps and mods collected for you over the years. Check out the STEX Collections for more info.

Each donation helps keep Simtropolis online, open and free!

Thank you for reading and enjoy the site!
