Yikes. We have lots of threads which advertise social networking websites. There is nothing in the rules prohibiting these sorts of topics, and there certainly isn't any need to be rude. (EDIT: post isn't directed towards Barbarossa. Sorry, didn't see your post. )

I think its kinda interesting that there is a lack of interest in Twitter amongst a lot of people, which I understand, because when I first started using it, I wasn't particularly interested either. But, its definitely grown on me, and there is something fascinting in messages of less then 140 characters. Its kinda like SMS online, which is cool. And its always awesome having different ways to connect with others...

Twitter is legit if there are a significant number of people out there who acutally care about your "updates". Such as if you run a website. Or have a rare and interesting job, such as being an astronaut.

Hmmmm, well, lots of people update thier twitter by SMS or by Smartphone App's... Its simply a new way of sharing information with the world. Which to me is kinda cool.

I succumbed to signing up for a Twitter account, and I must say, I can see both sides of where people are coming from. Yes, it's a good useful tool for businesses, websites, and people to keep in touch easily with updates and stuff, but then again, there are similiar features on Facebook that kind of run Twitter out of use.

However I do feel that some of the big superstars are using Twitter to communicate rather than Facebook or LiveJournal because its easy and general for them to use. I follow a few "stars" on my Twitter, just to see what they're up to.

I am with you on Twitter. It can be a nice networking tool. I only have 730 followers but they have helped change my life...seriously!

I hooked up with BW&BK magazine from Canada and they came to our concert and interviewed three of the bands.

I got booking for sveral states through Twitter promoters

I am followed by EMI, Sony, Capitol, LastFM, tons of radio and music communities, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, David G. from Foo Fighters...

My Space, Facebook, My Yearbook, CherryTap, Cr8aBUZZ, Mixposure, LastFM- these are all great social networking sites and I belong to all of them, for the sake of the musicians we support.

I really don't feel the need to tell everyone what I'm doing all the time. I think twitter and social sites are taking the mystery off people. Too much personal stuff online is not good.
