Region View issues (pics)

Hello guys, well, I'm having a problem in region view. I tried removing all plugins, but to no avail.

As you can see, the bottom slice of my large tiles, in region view have a gap. And if you look at sea level sections, its as if they are displaying the side slice shape, of terrain - you see what I mean even if I have terrible explanation skills...

Well, a picture says a thousand words so I'll show you, here in whole region...

Any ideas? Anyone have this happen before? Or is it a known glitch I have to live with?

I know that's terribly terraformed thus far, but it shows you what I mean. It only happens once I've been into a city tile and saved and come out (as shown by my un terraformed sections there)

Here's a singular part closer...

Now all trees, or anything I would have built - roads, buildings or whatever all displays over the top of the glitchy bit and the rest all lines up properly...

Any ideas people, I'd really appreciate it. i know it's only asthetic but it's bugging the hell outta me...

many thanks in anticipation...

E heath

I have the same problem. It happens both in game and using Sawtooth's Region Census program. However for me it happens whether or not I've openned the city tile (but also only for the large size tiles).

I'm running the game in Vista 32-bit on a Lenovo W500.

Any known solutions?

Try changing the screen resolution the game runs under. I had similar problems when running at a particular resolution (I can't remember what resolution, but it was a known problem).

If changing the resolution fixes the problem then that at least it's an easy fix. If it doesn't, then you've only lost a couple of minutes of your time.

it is a known problem and maxis never did anything about it. at res 1600x1200 the game does not save cities properly. they never came out with a fix for it.

That seems to be the problem. I've been running the game at 1920x1200. Dropping it down to 1680x1050 fixed it. (Note: the cities have to be openned and resaved for the region view image to be updated.) I'll probably put it back to 1920x1200 and then drop it down if I ever want to make a whole region screeshot. At least I know that there is a way to fix it.

Oh ya, I erred and in my last post. While I personally haven't openned and saved some of my city tiles, it happenned automatically when I loaded a region image. The problem doesn't happen on a completely fresh tile.

Thanks.
