I have 2 subway stations about 7 tiles away from each other. One is at 146% the other is at 3%. Why dont they cross the street and walk to the next station?

Then I have 2 bus stops one at 480% then 3 tiles away one at 0%.

How do I help this?

The sims only walk a certain distance from their home to mass transit stops (I think its about 10 tiles but I'm not sure of the exact number).

My bet is you have a large high rise within walking distance of one stop, but not the other. Try placing another bus stop on the opposite side of the 480% stop from the 0% stop and see if this evens out to 240% each etc.

Have  you tried NAM? I know that it has a much better pathfinding capability engine.

Most sims prefer shorter commutes to work, try making a subway,el-rail or a monorail system really effective so that there will be less abandonment.

Ok, thats fixed, now I have another question.

Im playing in regional mode. I have a Residential city with 42,000 sims, then one city away I have a lot of commercial lots. But they wont build. I have a few, "small shops", "Grease Pit", but no offices or tall buildings. How can I get some bigger buildings in the second ^ city? Also I have number of unbuilt lots in the residential city as well.

42,000 sims is not enough for a large commerical only city. My region currently has a medium city tile with 600,000 sims in one residential city, with 2 small commercial cities each providing 47,000 jobs, ~half of which are in high rises.

try the higher capacity road-top mass transit stations , (search the stex) they have huge capacities , and you shouldn't have any problem!(12,000 in capacity , for one of the bus stops!)

    Hope this helps.

You need 45000 office jobs alone for commercial skyscrapers. Try building an industrial city until your commercial office pop is high enough, or download the RH Plop mod in the general or essential mods section and plop the buildings you want in your commercial city. Make sure it says all 560 buildings.

It doesn't matter, Simcity4 deluxe is unlimited in zoning ways. But I guess the game wants you to build commercial in between Residential and Industrial, you could try that.

Do your cars/sims appear and don't move, or they just don't appear? Both of these could result in the road top mass transit lot you plopped. Also, make sure in the graphic, game(I don't know which one) that it says cars and sims high or something like that. Or did you download the semi trucks and/or Glenni's car pack? Those caused problems with my automata and made them not move at all(or maybe it was the semi generator or the sprinter vans). Anyway, if you downloaded any of these, remove them and see what happens.

I noticed that a few weeks ago, I think it started when I started using the HSR. Don't see any trains, cars or monorails. All I see is the helicoptors and planes.

When your city is not a big one, the sims use to walk a lot more. Like in a Farms City.

When my city become larger, the sims didn't want to walk like before. They become lazy =)
