Some good organizations have closed or moved instead of changing because of strict laws. My argument still stands because my reason still holds and is completely logical. I have heard of various "experimentation" happening at camps and that would go against most morals, especially both conservative and christian morals. --Ocram

@andisart: I'm the one on the left.

My boyfriend and I celebrated six months since we first met each other on Sunday. We met on the 10th of August, 2012, and made it official on the 29th of September.

I can't believe it's been that long.

Put this up in my room last night. Felt like it needed a splash of colour, so did that. :)

So then that brings the closet total to:

62 gay guys

1 lesbian

17 bisexuals (all male)

13 unspecified not straight

6 people "questioning"

No transsexuals thus far.

...and one goofball who sees fit to keep a list and statistics about this. :P

Added a little colour there, just to say that I might change that part for you guys.

Oh? Wonderful!

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

You can add me for the blue line.

And for the lesbian line, uh, unless it's already me.

It's not already you. You never explicitly came out before so you weren't on my list.

So, you're MTF trans, but you like (other) women, do I have that correct?

Assuming it is, that puts you under "MTF trans, likes women" which I am now forced to distinguish from "MTF trans, likes men". You people sure know how to complicate things. :P

Sexuality is rarely as simple as most people would like to believe. Me, I am Asexual/Bisexual and I never plan on ever becoming transgender, I don't even like wearing feminine clothing for men.

I am Asexual/Bisexual

I don't claim to be able to get inside your head but I do know that apparent asexuality is a common trait among people on the autism spectrum because we lack the same drive to be social that neurotypical people have and are impaired at handling properly what interaction we do have - and as such we tend not to have many friends, let alone girl/boyfriends. Thing is, this is not necessarily indicative of a lack of desire so much as it is of a lack of capability (see: involuntary celibacy)

The reason this distinction is important is because it can change as you get older. When I was in college I never went on a single date with anyone, had little desire to, and even if I wanted to I couldn't have begun to know how. But that started to change as I got a bit older and I set to work on solving the puzzle. I have since more or less gotten the hang of dating although I have yet to find someone special enough for the relationship to become serious (but hey, all in good time?).

I guess what I'm saying is, you may think you're asexual now, but give it a few more years and then see what you think. You might just be experiencing a lack of social development.

Wait, you're MTF trans and like women? I'd end up the same if I actually go through with it, so I'm glad to know that it's not like... totally different? I'm not sure exactly how to word it.

How do other girls react when you tell them you used to be a guy? Do you tell them at all? I guess one of my problems with changing at all is finding someone after, so I'm curious to know how you're doing, if you don't mind me asking?

If you want to complicate things further, why not split it into romantic attraction and sexual attraction? a good friend of meme is bisexual, but she can only consider a steady relationship with men.

Me? Straight as a flagpole (Im aware noone is 100% straight, but close enough). I am rather boring ahah

Sorry for double post but can't edit on phone:

Chptrk: It wouldn't bother me at all. If you never identified with being truly male in the first place, I wouldn't see it as being attracted to a male.

Since we're talking about sexual orientation, such a person is considered bisexual.

I tell pretty much everyone. Most don't care, because I live in a good country. I've had three girlfriends (yes, I know it's much) already. I'm single now, because maybe I need to play a bit less. tl;dr I'm doing as fine as your friendly neighborhood lesbian.

Bisexual/Asexual/Pansexual.

Spectrum is the key word to note. I would negotiate that this changes daily for all living beings. There are days I have zero attraction to anyone and there are days I feel attraction to either side of a binary gender spectrum. Change in viewpoints is directly a correlation of the passage of time and experience. Only short years ago i sat firmly on a binary spectrum finding no reason to pursue romantic interest with males but I now find myself with a sweet boyfriend. I find much attractive about women but have in recent months been on many satisfying dates where the other party chooses to identify with no particular gender or orientation.

My input to this discussion simply puts as 'sometimes my mind, heart and body all align to one ideal but frequently are open to anyone who I can find attraction in.'

If your tastes and attractions change over time then don't fret over it but feel good that you are able to listen to what your whole self craves and desires from moment to moment.

I'm just boring and hetro, but I'd just like to say I think it's great that everyone feels comfortable enough to talk out in the open. So many places on the internet where a thread like this would be a troll feeding ground.

Also I tend to find this happens to be a more "mature" community. The only such offense I have seen of late is where a user was rudely critical of NAM 31, but that was cracked down swiftly with a moderator warning and backlash from a fair few users.

Also boring and hetero (although I have said this). Shame, because you guys get all the rainbow flags and parades, which seem a whole lot of fun :)

Anyone is welcome to join in the various marches.  You don't even have to take your clothes off.

Since a few years the Belgian Pride Parade doesn't use the word 'gay' anymore, although still mainly an LGBT event, the message is more and more of general tolerance, respect and diversity. Everyone who agrees with the basic idea is welcome, so there's nothing that can keep you from going :P The gay community is reported to be very good at partying (I can't tell, I may be gay, but I don't do the party thing :P )

Being hetero doesn't make you boring, other aspects of one's personality are responsible for that I think :) Also, is the word 'hetero' commonly used in English (I know it is in Dutch)? My spell-checker doesn't know it :P

Hetero or "straight" or the two most common ways used to describe it in English I believe. And you are right, just cause someone is hetero doesn't make them boring.

Hetero is short for heterosexual. Homo is short for homosexual. Unless you adhere to the strict rules of Latin, where hetero means different and homo means man or same, depending.

Actually, it's Greek. Homo meaning 'human' is Latin. What is funny is that the words 'heterosexual' and 'homosexual' are Greek-Latin hybrids. Ah, language.

Speaking of parades, this has been going around about the Sydney Mardi Gras.

Alleged hate crime, all that has been flying about.

I saw that video off a link from Twitter or Facebook, there was no story attached where I read it so didn't realise the hate crime aspect. Regardless, it is absolutely disgusting how they treat him.

The "hate crime" may not necessarily be true, it's merely one of many allegations.

I don't know if it is a hate crime (always very hard to tell, it's not easy to know the intentions of people, it's one of those crimes that's hard to prove), but it certainly is police violence, which is not okay. Police violence seems to be a universal problem. (Slightly off topic: in Belgium there's been a huge row about a man that was killed in a police cell. For three years long, no-one was suspended and nobody knew about this, plus there are elements pointing towards misuse of power and the impression exists their has been an attempt at cover-up. Warning: the images are shocking.)

Any homophobic act is an act of hate. As a matter of fact, I once sent my sister to the hospital for that, because the law here doesn't reckoning that as "hate speech."
