Sad, dumb newbie looking for San Francisco

Probably a very dumb question:

I deleted the 'San Francisco' region in order to start it over- naturally it's not available on the region view.

Where do I move the SF region file so that I can re-start it without having to re-inttall the game?

While I mention it, where does one plug-in downloaded regions for use in the game? I noticed that they were not there as well?!?

I believe deleting the region "san fransisco" will delete it permanently from your hard drive. You may be required to do a re-install.

You can find all information on downloading maps in the Omnimaps section.

If you deleted it from the My Documents/SimCity 4/Regions folder, you can find a copy in the Program Files/SimCity4/Regions folder. Just copy/paste it into the My Documents/SimCity 4/Regions folder. It will appear brand new in game. If you did delete it from the Program Files folder, you should be able to copy it right from the disk and save a re-install.

As for getting new regions to show in game, it takes a bit more than just copying it in the Regions folder. Here's an article on how to do it.

The files on the CD are not encrypted, so you can also copy the default regions from the CD.
