Help with two Things

Hello guys. I'm new here so I have a few questions. The first is:

I have a tropical Archipielago, so I want that the trees you can put in God Mode change to palms or tropical trees, cause I don't want to spend all my Mayor budget in palms.

The other one is that I wanna change my config.bmp from an "all small" to an "all medium", I tried it once and I lost all the terraforming I made. Is there a way to change it without losing the terraforming?

I don't remember any tree mods for palms or tropical trees in God Mode. I know there are various mods for Mayor Mode trees. I'll have to look around. You might search the STEX for tree mods if you haven't.

Unfortunately, that is not possible. Any changes in the config will result in erasing whatever was on the tiles.

I had this problem when I tried chancing the config for the London region that comes with the game. The tiles got erased and there's no way to bring them back.

There is a backup for the default regions in the Program Files\Maxis\Sim City 4\regions folder. It won't have your cities but you can check the My Documents\Sim City 4\Regions\Downloads folder to see if you cities were saved, if so you can import them into the region.

If you want better palm trees, Goldiva made a pack of realistic palms(These are so much better than the original). But these ADD and does NOT replace the original. Just search "Goldiva" and you'll find it.

Jeronij's mayor mode tropical trees have several dependencies, but once you track them down, most of them are very nice.  So are the one's by Goldiva that 3dpuzzlemaster mentioned.  Do your islands need reefs, too?  Her other uploads are also very good.  Too many to link to here.  Just do a search for Goldiva and you'll see what I mean 

As for changing the config.bmp, do you have SC4Terraformer?  If you have it and know how to use it, you can change undeveloped city tiles to larger ones for sure, and you won't loose the terraforming.  Just follow this tutorial.  I don't know about ones that already have cities built on them.  You could try it, but be sure to make a backup copy of your region first.
