TmiguelT: Thanks! Ohhh yeah, I put a lot of work into that port, especially with all the freezing that's been going on. But the game's running much better then before so it's FINALLY finished.

Korot: I can name the rivers i wanted to. Would you like the rivers to be named as well?

Evillions: Well I'm not sure if you can tell from the region shot, but that city is loaded with custom content, just enough for my tastes, and I always am adding little by little as time goes on.

Korot2: I was, but adding a gig of ram to an already installed 512 MB did make things a lot better.

Djohaal: Thank you for the compliment.

And actually the game renders the shadows just fine, I just don't have them turned on to the fullest or even average. I don't want the game trying to working too hard while I'm trying to work as well. lol

Korot3: Nope, you are not mistaken.

    Update 38 | Region's Halfway Done

Ever since I got the gig of RAM for the computer, playing has been SO much better and I've been able to work more during a single session of gameplay. Now today, I've added four more tiles to the bottom edge of the region, making it a 16x24 Region, my biggest I've ever made.

I've accomplished four main cities, the seaport and the airport. Left to go basically is seven more cities.

    "Halfway done..."

Heh, from my point of view, you have barely gotten started. 3.gif But you know me and how I like to fill everything up with lots and lots of skyscrapers. 3.gif

So, in that case, if this is "half" then it'll be interesting to see what you do with the other half.

Update 39 | Dehya City Finished

I've been continuing my development of the new Follomer, and tonight I've finished the northern most city on the coastline, Dehya City which is the replacement of Dehyesha City in the old Follomer region. In the old one I had combined a small city with a large town feel, but here of course, i went all out.

    1-179.jpg

The mountain north of the lake is of course the replacement for Mt. Terrisia.

    2-164.jpg

Now the new Dehya City is popularly known for three things. It's uniquely built sunken highways, its uniquely built sunken railway, and of course, the very large blue future tower.

    3-152.jpg

Here's the central train station. This is the only spot where the sunken railway shows up, the rest of the line is tunnel under the city. The same style is with the highways, however the tunnels are shorter and the sunken stretches are more common.

    4-135.jpg

This is possibly my favorite place in Dehya, the transition in elevation. Instead of leaving a hill here with a large gap, I decided to put my retaining walls to use, and terrace it, filling the gaps with grass lots and nice trees. The outcome i thought looks gorgeous, especially with the stores at the top and houses at the bottom.

    Replies coming soon.

Update 40 | Night Shots Around Follomer

While doing my Story CJ and gathering pics for another update, I decided to take some night screens of various cities, since I had re-updated the game with the nightlight patch (for I think the tenth time).

    StKristCity-Oct21481251171347.jpg

St. Krist City is the new Capital city of the country, and is of course, the biggest.

    Tessabri-Jun9381251176988.jpg

Coming in second for this update is the new Tessabri city located in central Follomer. I tried a new approach with this one. Laid out the roads as usual, except this time the center of the city has three highways coming together, and right in the middle are the highrises. And then brancing out in all directions is commercial and residential homes. Must say this city took much effort in it's development.

    NaomiCity-Jun22131251761746.jpg

And third is a much small scale city, but very scenic. I LOVE the rail overpass I built over the highway, and then then the thing I love most is the small residential island I made up north, with sandy beaches and retaining walls to make it a very highclass/highwealth living neighborhood. This city was named Naomi.

Update 41 | Dehya City At Night

    11-43.jpg

    22-2.jpg

The completed Dehya City metropolis center at DARK night. I messed around with the contrast to get a much better "night" pic for you. The lights amazingly look much more "out there" when the contrast is changed. The game really should have this option if you want a screenshot, but I can see how you might not be able to see well with this level of darkness.

But anyway, theres one of the big cities at night along the waterfront, with the bridges in the bottom right corner.

Do you know that gizmo has released a mod that also darkens the city? A lot more than SC4 at least. Don't know where to find it though, but it will make your default night shots look a lot more like this one, witch is beautiful.

    *picks jaw off floor

Excellent, Archean! I love those night shots!

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.
