I wonder if all the power outages on the east coast will affect the viewership of the Super Bowl, which experts expect to be at an all time high.

Snowstorms like this make me skeptical of the NFLs alleged desire to have a super bowl in New Yorks new football stadium...

Every damn NFL city deserves to host a SB.  Kind of sickening the same boring places get the SB year after year.  Who cares if it's played in sub-zero temps with 20 feet of snow on the ground.2.gif

Oh they will have one, but thats it just one.

You think the SB is ever going back to Detroit? Minniapolis will get one when they put up thier new place, assuming its indoors. Dallas gets thiers next year, not sure how long it will be before they get another one though, the weather here is off and on in febuary.

I can Just Imagine the competition for SB "L" The 50th SB in 5 years.

Just playing it in the home stadium of one of the two teams there would seem to be the most logical thing to do... the problem is that it's become too huge an event for that. You can't effectivley plan it not knowing until two weeks beforehand where it will be.

That said, nice weather is by no means necessary. Cold, rain, mud, snow... isn't a problem for regular season or playoff games - in fact, games are that much more epic when played in inclement weather. Places like Miami are exactly where you don't want the final duel to be taking place!

He did grow up there, his father being the Saints QB.

New Orleans victory! I'm at least somewhat glad that Brees came out of San Diego, although it would have been better if the Chargers had kept him...

Still, I won $10 on a bet due to this outcome. Go Saints!

one of the best SB's in the last few years.

The Colts made that one mistake that cost them the game, the Saint made a few too like going for it on 4th and goal early.

The Who were very mediore at best. Mabey next time the Act will just play a few songs not a medley. I swear were only a couple SB  half times away from "Up with people" style shows  agian and the 10,000 dancing girls with streamers and other plate spiners to 'Entertain" Us. Blech  14.gif

    The ads were Truly  unmemorable.

That Said: Congratz to  Dem Saints for a hard won victory I pickem a few pages ago.

we need them final numbers for our contest.

Russ Grimm former "hog" for  the Red skins

Ricky Jackson LB for NO and  SF

John Randle DT Vikings and Seahawks

Dick LeBeau, the short guy from hogans Heros, and appaently played for the Lions

    Floyd Little RB Denver

    Missing the Cut

Charles Haley who i think is a no brainer, I mean 5 SB rings with 2 different teams,a main part of 2 dynasty level defences?

Chris Carter another no brainer, only Rice has better stats.

    Tim brown

    Shannon Sharp

I'll start off by saying that this year's crop of ads were pretty good. The Volkswagen and Audi ones were my favorites.

Congrats to the Saints on a great win! Boy, was that one heck of a game. It really didn't look good after the 1st quarter ended with the Colts leading 10-0 already, but the Saints pretty much had possession the whole 2nd quarter. Rolling the dice with the onside kick turned out to be an excellent decision, and Tracy Porter's interception sealed the deal.

The halftime show was a bit dull (even if I like the Who, though mostly from watching too much CSI when they were still new ^^" ) as to the music, but at least the light show and stage were really cool to look at. The commercials seemed to be either boring, CBS plugs, Doritos, or Bud Light, as if those two companies bought almost all the commercial spots themselves... I think they need to up the prices a bit more so we can get some more variety and less crap like those awful GoDaddy commercials that I loathe with a passion. The only one I liked a lot was the Audi "Green Police" one, that was both hilarious and very original.

Maybe Cheap Trick can do the halftime show next year? ^_^

Bob Seger would be an excellent choice.

I have to admit, Roger Daltry seems to have lost his singing mojo.   I thought Ringo's kid did an excellent job on the drums.

No, I would much rather see one artist. That's not my point. My point is I see no reason why it can't be a newer artist. Look at the roster since the incident...

    '05: Paul McCartney

    '06: Rolling Stones

    '07: Prince

    '08: Tom Petty

    '09: Bruce Springsteen

    '10: The Who

All people who are over the hill and just don't have their spunk anymore (especially The Who).

Give me one artist, but somebody who's young enough to still be capable of putting on a good performance, please. How about Third Eye Blind? Smash Mouth? Nickleback? Linkin Park? Barenaked Ladies? Sugar Ray? Matchbox Twenty? The Goo Goo Dolls? There are plenty of good candidates from less than 20 years ago... I don't appreciate them being "banned" because of something a couple people unrelated and unconnected to them did.

Nice thought, but I dare you to come up with a setlist by someone like DMX that's appropriate to show on TV unedited. Pretty much any rap artist is out, as are artists such as Rage Against the Machine. Too much profanity.

But, yeah, The Who has lost their spunk.  can't argue that one

I can do without Linkin Park but I'd be happy to see the rest of them.

Thing is, they are still playing to my demographic and I'm considered to be a little odd because I know who those groups are.

Thats why they go with the classic rock acts, thier "safe" for Network TV

Thier only other option is the Disneyfied acts like Jonas Bro's and with that you get the 1000 streamers and 10K screaming pre teens.

I realy cant think of any late 80- 90's rock acts that would have the mass apeal they look for and less profanity laden music. Kid Rock? dont know his music so not sure

You may have to move to country acts. Plenty of them around, but if they went that route how much would you bet it would start with Wille Nelson?
