Growstage question

I was wondering..... I always do that.....lol. Like in the picture below, it says Grow stage ...0x04...does that mean that I need to have the CAM to see it grow? Aren't there only three stages in the maxis standards? (How many are they anyways in the RC and I's) What if I change that number to 0x03, will it then grow  in my cities?

I ask because I have that freaking lot ever since it appeared on the download list, grew dozens of cities and hundreds of lots ever since and it never grew. I have several lots like this.

Thanks for a short explanation of this grow-stage stuff (I am new to this, never bothered with growstages before)

Well, from what I know, growth stage three is only the maximum of industrial lots. Since that appears to be a commercial lot, 8 should be the maximum stage.

Oh.....and I thought only CAM went up to 7.....Feel kinda dumb in this matter now.....lol. How about the R's?

I heard it was 7...but I guess it might be that they can go up 7 more stages. I guess I'll haveto research that one.

with out CAM is 3, 8, 8(this I'm sure).. with CAM is 8, 15, 15 (this not so sure lol)

At the risk of piggy-backing onto this post, I have some questions regarding growth stage as well...

- is iLives Reader the only way to adjust growth stage?

- as near as I can determine, the growth stage is determined by a combo of factors - capacity, size of the BAT/LODs, and size of the lot that it's sitting on...is this correct? Which one is more of a deciding factor for the PIM/LE when it generates the growth stage?

Any input is appreciated, but especially info as to changing growth stage...thanks

Thanks folks for clearing this up now, I have one more question: Let's say that I have this stage 5 CAM farmlot (and don't have CAM installed) and if I change the number 5 to 3 with the reader, does that mean that it will grow now in my regions?
