Transferring Regions

Dear people of Simtropolis.

I was wondering if it was possible to copy the rgions I made on my windows pc to the version on my mac pc. I've tried copying the region(s) folder but it did not work, even though the two folders were exactly the same my game still showed an empty region.

I tried renaming my region to Fair, since I built the city in the Fairview region originally, but now the region doesn't show up at all when I try to open a new region.

Any ideas/help would be very welcome.

Thanks in advance.

It should work by just copying the region folder to your USERNAME/Documents/SimCity 4/Regions. Then simply selecting it from the Open Region dialog. Alternatively, you could create a new region with the same layout and import each city individually.

I thought you had to do something to "import" the region. I dunno, might be wrong but I thought there was more to it than just copying.

You should just have to put the region folder into the "Regions" folder in your Documents folder and open it from the "Open Region" dialogue. For some reason it doesn't work if you put it in the one in the main Data folder.

Thanks for the responses so far guys.

However, what i've tried is copying the regions folder to both the one in the programme folder and the one in my documents, but the only thing I get is empty regions. Any ideas?

Firstly, is the regions folder that you are moving them to totally empty?

    If not, empty it.

Secondly, this one sounds stupid, but make sure you select the right region in the game.

Thirdly, If nothing else is working. Try and import the cities unto a different region. Make a new region, select the city and click the "import" button. Search for the right region and city, but if it is not there check the "downloads" region.

Fourthly, see if having the same plug-ins in your plugins folder as your old regions does anything.

If these don't work, feel free to speak up.

And I will think of more solutions for you, Im all out at the moment.
