Underground Building

I'm looking for more underground buildings. So far I can only find the Frogface Plaza in the Stex. I think that there is a lot of potential for new city ideas by building underground. Imagine massive underground industrial complexes where only the top of the building is seen.

Please let me know if anyone has any buildings they know of that are underground or has anything in design for underground facilities.

There isnt anything like what you want here. But it does exist. There are lots of underground things on the Japaneese sim city sites. Most of them will work with the non japaneese version of the game.

EDIT: Pics

I used to make a lot of bats, and I finished some basic parks, such as a typical picnic table pavilion. I have many incomplete bats of large towers that I never finished as I simply ran out of time. I’d be more than happy to share them if anyone would like to finish them.

Sorry I just saw the replies.

Well the trick goes like this, but as far as I know it only works with Mental Ray in BATforMAX:

    - All the geometry that is below ground level needs to made invisible for the camera (If you have geometry that extend from below ground to above you need to cut the polygons in order to do that)

    - To do this, select the geometry and right click and un-tick "Visible to Camera"

    - now create a plane or polygon that fits the outer edges of the sunken part and put a map on it on which you turned Opacity down to zero (I call this plane or polygon "GHOST" in my scenes)

    - everything that is behind the "GHOST" will be rendered

    - LODs need NOT to extend below ground level

    Hope that makes sense.

This is exactly what came to mind. I designed this weird map and came up with idea to build into the slopes of mountain.  All these sunken plazas and some things out there would be perfect.  There does not seem to be much but your quote is exactly -  There lot of potential for new ideas with this and also adds more dimension to the visuals

I have not fully though things out yet and will take long time to fully think things out and develop area.

Originally I was using Deadwoods Raised Park set but was having few issues with missmatch colors vs the retextured revision and some issues with elevation and kicking a tile up slightly and raising a random wall... I was mainly using this as a front facade and raising tiles behind it.  So for now, gonna use those Slope Rock tiles

I found few other things and will mess around.  These look like they will blend well with PEG Sky Farms , but I'm currently using SPAM Farm and plan to use Sky Farms on different part of Map region and then just remove SPAM and go with Sky Farm.

Memory may be playing me false here but didn't someone once do the small underground mall from GTA Vice City? Was it on one of the first 3 Simtrop discs?
