Welcome to the Pillton Region! The first (and only) city journal by HunterIrked!

Background:

A series of pics from my in-progress city of Pillton. To keep me motivated to continue this, I limited myself to one large city to work with. Whether or not it will continue being just one city depends on the reception this gets, and if I'm still motivated to continue. There are a wide variety of mods used to make this city possible, which means way too many to post here. For the most part, only the commercial districts are plopped. The residential and farming are all growable. Some major lots/mods (which are obvious in the pics) are PEG's seasonal trees, the NAM/SAM, and many lots done by Dk1. Criticism of any form is appreciated, I hope you enjoy the show!

Part 1: Petersville

Petersville is one of many small communities scattered throughout Pillton Region.

    Some more info

If you're wondering how I use all the seasonal trees, it's mostly just a lot of plopping and demolishing. And partly due to that reason, the city is impossible to be self-sustaining, as I have said before. In this update we see Liptonsville during the summer. And if I may quote Haljackey "Click the pics for full resolution". (1680x1050)

suomi2005: The whole place is made up of small towns, thanks!

jacqulina: Thank you, the seasonal trees are what inspired this city journal.

CarmineHilton: Thanks! I use mostly curves, otherwise it adds a sidewalk when adjacent to the trees.

    suplado!: Thank you!

qinbenjiaren: Thanks, I plan to have the majority of the CJ set in autmn.

    Part 2: Liptonsville

Hey! It looks like you have a good rural CJ starting up! Ruralism is part of what I based Skagit County off of.

    Keep up the good work!

    Teaser

This isn't much of a teaser, mostly just an overview of what I've been doing recently. I've become a little OCD over the layout of my cities as of late, and find it easiest and best looking when built on flat land. The shot below is the region I've been working on and adding to with no avail. Until I started Pillton. You can see it right at the very bottom of the shot, about a quarter done. I started with endless attempts to create a large downtown city. Unfourtinatly, my computer doesn't agree and kept crashing to desktop, even with all the graphics set to low. So I ended up working on a rural area which is now what you see here.

    3.01: Region Overview

If it's not obvious, it's not supposed to look like anything 3.gif I just add new cities to the config when I feel like starting again.

    RegionOverview.jpg

And don't worry, there's a full update in store for tomorrow.

    Tomasneto: Thanks

SirUnger: Thanks, I'm considering doing another CJ for some of the other, more urban cities I've been experimenting with.

    Part 3: Willowdale

Another town in the Pillton area, known for it's shopping centre and soccer field.

    3.1: Willowdale: Willowdale Shopping Centre

Note the majority of buildings here are DK1 lots

    Willowdale-1.jpg

    3.2: Willowdale: Population: 1200

    Willowdale-2.jpg

    3.3: Willowdale: Welcome to Willowdale

    Willowdale-3.jpg

3.4: Willowdale: A perfect place for families

    Willowdale-4.jpg

    3.5: Willowdale: Willowdale memorial field

Note a tease of what's to come in the top left corner.

looks really cool personally i don't like the orange/yellow trees much cause they look ugly when you add green trees but your city looks great, i like your suburbs and your shops and stuff well done.
