Window Mode

I've spent the last couple hours looking for a way to play SimCity 4 Deluxe in Window Mode. I have tried the "-w" and "-window" extentions in the command line, and no luck. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit). Any suggestions on what to do?

With a space after the target, and the -w should do it, you will need to start the game with the shortcut at least once for it to take effect. If you have a wide screen moniter you might need to add the custom resolution also, I am not sure of that.

Here's my full command line: "D:\Games\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -w -CustomResolution:enabled -r1280x960x32 -music:off -intro:off

Of course you're going to have to change the directory, but this might just work. You can the resolution to any resolution your monitor supports.

And I'm running Windows XP, that might be the problem

"C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -Introff -w -r1024x768x32 You must specify what resolution you want after you use the -w command. Something like -rRRRRxRRxCC, Where R = Resolution, and C = Color. 32-bit color is x32, and x16 is 16-bit.

If you don't specify a resolutin after the target, it will use the resolution that was set previously.
