That's brilliant! Thanks!

Where'd you get those 3x3 roundabouts? I only have those 2x2 roundabouts that come with the NAM

Disabling one structure from developing

Thanks! It works like a charm. I built the biggest hell-hole I could think of (server coal plants near each other, landfills in the middle of a residential area) and set the set exclusively to Chicago 1890. None of them appeared! -

Thanks! I'll try it out and read the links tomorrow, as I really should get some sleep now. -

http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/1954/gebouw.jpg That would be the building in question. I believe there's also a 2x1 variant, which is the same building, but lacks the parking lot. If you can do anything about this thing appearing (or tell me how I can do so), I'd appreciate it. I'm not using the CAM (yet). I keep forgetting to find out what it is -
Hey, I was wondering if there's a way to stop one specific building from one specific set from developing. There is a low wealth medium residential building in the Chigaco 1890 set that I think is hideous. I know resort to either bulldozing all of them or just blocking the Chigaco set all together. But a lot of the buildings in that set are actually quite nice. So is there anything I can do to stop this lot from appearing in the first place?

I already upgraded it twice, if that's what you mean. And even with this seaport, I-HT demand is still through the roof. This in a city with 100.000 population, 25.000 commercial jobs and 20.000 I-HT jobs.
-
Hmm... I just tried it in one of my cities - demolishing the seaport made no change in demand at all. Maybe because I'm using non-Maxis seaports? I use the upgradeable ones. Are they actually functional? Strategist - thanks for the tip, I already do that and I have the same problem. One ferry station is being used by 12756 people(!). But more specifically, I was talking about my island industry.

Well, at first I did have simulator Z park and ride installed. Now I just have simulator Z installed and I still see this sometimes. I quite like it actually

I just pretend they're cyclists - riding 2 km to work is nothing. I go to and from the university by bike each day and that's a 10 km round trip.
-
So, in short, I shouldn't build seaports? But what about my island cities, which have no connection to the mainland? They're screwed?

Excellent modding idea!
