Question about bus stops going over capacity

I've been building in my new region, and I've been using a mixture of highways, roads/avenues, commuter rail and buses. I have two downloaded mass transit stations, one an on-road bus stop and the other a bus/subway combo station. However, they only have a capacity for 5-10 sims (compared to the normal Maxis bus stop, at 1000 sims, and the Maxis train station, at 2000 sims).  Obviously, with a city that has 50,000+ sims per small city tile, the stations basically light up on the traffic data view like Rubolph's nose.

What I'm wondering is, do mass transit stations that go over capacity actually increase travel times? I'm especially wondering about bus stops, because the official guide says they don't create traffic (at least on the road, which is why they're awesome).

Here are the two mass transit stations I've downloaded.

The bus stop has a capacity of 6 sims, and the subway/bus station has a capacity of 5 sims.

That is a small capacity! Why don't you use this one?

It has an outrageous amount of capacity. I know it doesn't look good but it's the only solution to overcrowding I can think of. I do like how that looks though. As for you question about commute time, I have no idea. I am also interested as to whether it effects it.

Thnx. The subway station I have was supposed to have a capacity of 5000, but yet ingame it says only a capacity of 5! Weird glitch?

Although I tried out the on-road bus stations, they block road access to the adjacent lots! *****

Yeah, they block road access for residential. I hate that too. If you put it in front of a lot on a corner it shouldn't matter. You still have to plan out where to put them like the defult stops but at least you don't have an annoying one tile thing in the way.

And that is a really weird glitch. Can you fix it because I really like how that station looked!

Is there a way to make the bus/subway station not block the adjacent lot?

I don't think so because the station is just like a building. If you notice, when you build one outside of your power grid, it has a no power zot. So that to me indicates that it's a building. So basically the game thinks you're trying to connect a building to a building which doesn't work. You might be able to change it but I'm not sure. Not my work. I would love to see it work like that though. But whenever I build one I always put a park of somesort next to it. It always reminds me to put them in.

"On-road" transit stations are not transit networks, they are transit enabled lots, that's why there is no road connection for the residential zone.

I see. So I was on right the track, just different terms. I get it now.
