    Eesh. No comments?

I should have the UDI update up by this weekend, if not sooner. Once again, sorry for the lack of updates.

    Yay, finally some comments.

Here is a special Christmas update describing the donations being sent from Long Beach Island to Rancho Cucamonga following the horrible fire.
    br1731hj.jpg
All of the donations were sent to Long Beach Island City Hall on BR 102. They loaded it all into a box truck driven by local Gustav Knifenfork. Unfortunately for Gustav, a snowstorm the night before would make things difficult. He went on his way headed south on BR 102.
    br1787ko.jpg

    br1742vm.jpg
He then turned off Waterway Drive onto I-302 and BR 17. He would stay on this road for the next 110 miles.
    br1778pv.jpg
As he drove the truck into the higher elevations, the snow became more imminent.
    br1761nj.jpg
He passed over I-2. I-302 ends here and BR 17 continues.
    br1755bw.jpg
He crosses the border into Hummelsville.
    br1717tw.jpg
In Hummelsville, the snow became even worse and Gustav had to drive extremely slow up the many hills.
    br1729mi.jpg
He came to the intersection with a sign that mistakenly posts BR 4 as a toll road when it isn't (at least not at this point).
I'll stop there for now. More from the excellent adventure on BR 17 will come soon. Please comment.

Wow. Still no comments? That's disappointing... 8.gif

Gustav slowly trudged along BR 17 in the box truck.
    br17060ny.jpg
Gustav wondered, Where are the plows? Cars are sliding all over the place and nobody wants to clean it up!
    br17054uc.jpg
He passed by Hummelsville Elementary. School was obviously out, and kids were wandering through town enjoying the snow.
    br17038hv.jpg
He later passed by High Point Regional High School, where some kids were playing some snow football.
    br17026bp.jpg
He passed by the main intersection in town, Main St. To the right is the town CBD.
    br17019rz.jpg
He passed by the intersection with BR 17a. 17a takes a more mountainous route through very small towns such as Suffern. If not for the snow, Gustav would have taken 17a because it would have been more direct and faster. Instead, he decided to stay on the main road. (I will cover 17a in another update.)
    br17071xj.jpg
The road was completely invisible here, so Gustav had to rely on the lightpoles in the middle of the road.
    br17085mu.jpg
He slowly trudges on into Twin Peaks, knowing that his trip to Rancho Cucamonga would surely turn into an overnight one.

Twin Peaks is next. Please comment.

    Thanks for the comment jasperdeman.nl.

Just a little warning to all of the followers of this CJ: As this CJ approaches its 1-year anniversary (1/25/05), some of the pix in pages 1 and 2 will probably get eaten up by the server. I will not completely replace the pics: instead, I will probably put one wide current shot and maybe a few close-ups. Probably the UDI section in the beginning will not be replaced unless I can find them on my hard drive. Thanks for understanding, and please keep commenting. It lets me know that this CJ is being watched and appreciated.

How could I have missed two updates in a row?? Binsur is on my Top 5 list of favorite CJ's! The highway signs are excellent; I always look forward to travel tours with those little extras added. Keep it up!

    Thanks oroen and savio.
liaowei: It's actually faster then you think, partly because I run Windows 2000 instead of XP.
I don't have much time, so here is a pic of the next city, Twin Peaks.

Good variety in terrain, mdz1001. You terraform as you expand, right?

Great CJ. Being from NJ, I can recognize all of those names from around the state that you've put in there. At first I thouhgt you might really be re-creating NJ. So I assume you're from NJ, right?

    Cjah: Thanks for the comment.
    hk5: Yes, I do terraform as I go. That's why it's a bit random.
comdude21: Yes, I do live in NJ, but I am kinda close to the NY border (hence, the towns of Hancock and Suffern.

Unfortunately, RLS has hit me, as well as tons of homework and midterms. I will get an update up next week.

Not to worry - Imageshack will reset the 1-year timer every time someone views them.

That aside, I've been following this CJ, and a great job indeed. The UDI updates make a nice touch to the story.

    Ooh. Lotsa comments. 1.gif

Shadow_Assasin: Yes, but the first two pages are hosted on ST's server. That is why I said that. And thanks for the comment.
    texanpride786: Thanks for the comment.
ramvid01: The underground highway itself is not a mod. However, the lot I use to create the holes is. Find smoncrie's Hole Digging Lots on the STEX. (And please try not to double post.) 1.gif

    And onward to:
    tpwelcome8co.jpg
This is a bonus peak of Skyline Drive, which is the only road that allows access to the lavish apartments on top of the Twin Peaks. Now on to the story.
    tp48dp.jpg
Once crossing into Twin Peaks, Gustav had to drive through the Katzman Tunnel. This tunnel goes through the Twin Peaks and leads directly into the main city. It is currently the longest tunnel in Binsur and the only one on BR 17.
    tp31kh.jpg
Once at the end of the tunnel, Gustav hit an immediate intersection with CR 191 (Ratzer Road). At the very bottom left corner is the beginning of Skyline Drive.
    tp21du.jpg
Twin Peaks is known as a center for high-tech industry. Once all of the old iron mills went out of business, these businesses moved in. It is kinda like the Silicon Valley of Binsur.
    tp19ak.jpg
(Remember old BR 23 in Seacrest? It's back...) Gustav had to swerve around a small fender-bender at the intersection with Communipaw Avenue. This marks the end of BR 23, a long east-west road that heads through the farming town of Stockton all the way to Seacrest.
    tp63yq.jpg
That's all for Twin Peaks. Summit Twp is next, and may come Monday if I have a snow day. 18 inches baby! 4.gif Please comment.

Good job on the CJ. I like all those highway signs a lot, that's something not many CJs have. Have any regional pictures?

Looks great with the snow and all. Doesn't it get annoying if you can't see the roads though, especially if there are no buildings nearby?

    Hi MDZ,

It's a very good looking CJ you have here!
I particularly like Seacrest, Deepwater (the little bridge on the 101) and the snowy part, Twin Peaks reminds me of home.

Already one year! Happy Birthday to Bisur 44.gif

As for the Eagles I'm sorry they lost, was a good game tough!

Keep up the good work 5.gif
