Well people as you know sc4 has been displayed distorted and the game ran very slow (lag) with the ATI HD4800 series graphcards, even though we have the state of the art pc and processor.

I got a notice today that ATI released new drivers for the ATI HD4800 series, in my case the radeon HD4850. I downloaded the new drivers allong with a renewed catalist controllcenter. And you know what, its as if ATI heard all our wishes for a decent functioning 5 year old favorite game of ours. As soon as the update was complete i started SC4 and it works like a charm! No more distortions, no more stupid crashes and far less lag!

So my advice to all of you obviously, get your new drivers ASAP, and enjoy city building once more 2.gif

ATI is too late. I already bought an Nvidia. But it would be cool if others with ATI cards here would try that new driver and report back here if it solves their problems.

Seen that before with a non-ATI card, so it's not specific. I guess the game messed up while saving.47.gif

I have the same exact issue. I run Simcity 4 Deluxe on a Radeon 4870x2 with a 26" monitor. I have enabled the 1920x1200 switch in the shortcut, which SC4 is supposed to have native support for. I have noticed that after uninstalling the NAM the corruption went away. Reinstalling it brought the corruption back. I think it has something to do with the NAM. I would really love to be able to use the NAM, if anyone has any suggesstions it would be greatly appreciated!

It appears that changing the resolution back to 1600x1200 entering and saving the city, then restarting the game appears to be the workaround, at least for me. It's odd though, I can remain in 1920x1200 and swap back and forth between two cities and sometimes the anomaly appears and sometimes it doesn't. Appears to be completely random, though un-installing the NAM does prevent this from happening at all.
