It's not the same as the Burj al Arab. but still they don't build anything ugly down there in Dubai maybe the next Dubai-BAT project would be the

 

This building above, they were going to build this in my home city of Melbourne, Australia.  It was going to be called the Grollo Tower and it was designed here by Bruno Grollo..  Its an exact replica of it.  But our local government cancelled it, the buggers!

Have a search for Grollo Tower in a search engine..lol

Umm, I'm not sure I will be able to do all that advanced lighting but I'll do my best. Is there some way you can make the lights move or change colour, that would really make this more realistic.

its gonnna take a long time to build but cant wait for it though.just hopin this is ur next proj..plzzzz n even if u find it hard to work on this due to ur shedule maybe sumbody else can work on this..plzzzzzzz..id love to see it in sc

well just to note out..the curve on the front really might need some work.u can chek it out in the pics..the curve at the top is more than the bottom..tht might need a little work..maybe reduce it at the base.well the pic seems a bit small n unconclusive..really wish u can show some more progresss.great work nonetheless

Ok then. As I said I'm not finnished with the front yet so there might be some changes there. Second, I don't think there is a racetrack there. There is one in Dubai but not around the Burj al Arab

ya i kinda agreee.there is no racetrack near burj..theres just jumeira beach hotel...the one shaped like a sail.the burj shaped like the tower (duh) and wild wadi ...a water theme park..the closest racetrack im aware of is nad al sheba n it isnowhere close to this place..maybe u cud be more precise

I desperatley need more pics of the bottom of the building like of the entrance and the parks and everything surrounding it. The building itself is almost done exept fpr some reflections, textures and the roof wich I don't have any good pic of either. Please tell me if I should change something

I still need a good pic of the roof and some pics of the island the burj stands on to complete this project. I have been looking all over for pics that shows the road that leads to the entrance and the parks on the side facing the gulf.

The best pic so far shows only the entrance itself and one of the bridges leading over a small canal or something. Please if you have any pics tell me

Another thing I thought about. I'm not in to mods and stuff but is there a mod so that you can build buildings on the water like marinas? If there is I could make two versions one with just the building and some surrounding parks and the roads leading up to the entrance and anotherone with the entire island, that would look much more realistic.

Last, What type of reflection do you guys think would be the best, a reflection of the actual surroundings in Dubai, Just a reflection of the sea or a reflection of a city.

Ack, I guess when I uploaded the photos it was deadlocked. Sorry about that. As for reflections, I would choose no reflections. If you make it an ocean and the person plops it in a downtown with no river it won't look right. The same goes for a city, the person may plop it surrounded by water and it won't look right. So, I always perfer no reflections. When I get back next week, I'll see what I can get you in the way of photos.

As you may have noticed this project is proceeding veeeeeeeeery slow. it is because I simply don't have time to work on it so much right now and that I spend much time away from my home computer where the project is. Next week I will be home more and maybe be able to complete most of it. My hopes is that it will be finnished before the summer is over.

And yes I know that I said like in February that it would be finnished soon but then I got alot to do in school and now there is vacation and all that .

Just stopped by to take a look at your work from the link in your signature from your post in my city journal. The building looks really cool and you work to recreate look great. Look forward to the release of it. It will fit perfectly as a waterfront hotel with my first major city (once it becomes a reality) in my region.

Offtopic: Burj Dubai is the second model... The first model was the one proposed for Melbourne. The height of the Burj Dubai is unknown, and will be unknown until the building is finished!!

Burj Al Arab is coming along Great! Please do finish it, and don't forget the beautiful lights. As I hope many of you know the building is supposed to resemble a sail from a ship! Just a little extra info!

The reason that this hotel is build, is to attract tourists who have a lot of money. I saw a program on Discovery on this hotel, it's amazing!!! There are now working on a new project called The World. It's build on sea. Every continent is an island. U can buy one island teh buils your villa on it. This whole project cost about 100 billion dollars!!! can u believe it!!
