I know why Bolton has traffic problems, there is only 1 on/off ramp on the highway build anothe one and the traffic might improve, and you could package this city journal and photos, extra features, and possible the regions, or plugins in a .zip and put it on the stex, that way we can re-read the story when we aren't on the internet, or SimTropolis is offline.

Now why would he want to do that?

Great job, on this CJ, once again, Nexis!44.gif

SC4, Forevermore!

Currently preoccupied with architecture school...lurking with caution.

Thanks for all the replies and comments

I am sorry that I can't make an update tonight (sunday) on the CJ, as I promissed, but I am not home yet.
I got hung up in Toronto for the whole day, so I will be leaving tomorrow morning and it'll take me 8 hrs to drive home, then I will take a nap(ZZZzzz...) and then I'll bring you an update. Sounds good?

...you could always copy the Cj and keep it on your Comp, if you like.....for me it's too darn big to make one file and upload it with my 28 K connection (supposed to be a 56K though...lol)

On Monday we will visit Tenzel Outlet, where we haven't been for awhile, and also Axis Harbour.
Then we visit Dr Evel's new Caf

Problems with the site, couldn't upload earlier, the site was down again.....

Ok, here is the promissed update. I will have to it in two parts though, because my freetime is a bit short.

We haven't been to Axis Harbour for awhile, so here is a good look at the East Part of the Axis City, now independant from the Main City. Ever since Ciroyon isn't the Mayor anymore, Axis Harbour is slowly growing and paying its debts. A lot of Immigrants have arrived in the last year from Uru and a lot of them settled here in the harbour town, which is a pleasant place to live and close to two big Cities to work.

    /idealbb/files/1AxisHarborHousing.jpg
This is the whole town, not much of a town yet, but largely improving every month. The harbour is not a busy as it is supposed to be, but hiring more than 500 people.- The problem with Axis Harbour is still the same, higher taxes and noway around it. The taxes are necessary to pay off the debts for building this enormous harbour, which Ciroyon thought would be a goldmine. Tenzel Harbour has its share also and being close to the Capitol, Gloryville, helps a lot for its harbour to be busier than the Axis Harbour. A big competitor for Axis Harbour.
    /idealbb/files/2AxisHarborView3.jpg
This is Tenzel Outlet, where Jim,Evermind Wellwisher and Swamper live. Also we have here the big Smurfer Steel Industries, the nightschool of Evermind Wellwisher, let's not forget the Swamper Signs Main Industry and one Dr Evel's Starbuck Caf

Hello!, sorry if this has been asked before, i cant recall it being covered previously.....Is there any reason why you use power cables over water when you have a road or rail bridge?

Nice update, as always, but didin't have too much content. But that doesn't really matter, since picture tells more than thousand words. And with that, I think that could count as 'bout 5000 words for the update.
    I think that was all...

Wait a minute! ...the official opening of ZeCoSo (Zeddic's Computer Solutions) in Three Towers northend. And you haven't told me anything! My revenge will be terrible! 11.gif OK, that was a joke... 22.gif

Thank you all for the nice comments.Thank you also Bamakid325 and enjoy your stay in this CJ. fretz, I don't really understand your question, but I use Powercables on land and over water for the looks only, since I have the power cheat, where power is everywhere and I don't actually need the powerlines. But it looks more realistic in my opinion to have them around once in awhile.

Here is the second part of this update, I was too darn tired yesterday to do the whole thing, after having driven from Toronto to Quebec City for more than 7 hours straight.

Here we go: Belding, a municipality south of Birdsview ,west of Smurfmind and north of Cashmere, had the event of the connecting of the big water pipe project. This picture was taken on June 3rd at 5:00 AM the day of the event. A beautiful morning. Waterpipe connections have been made from Nexis City to Gloryville and all the other surrounding townships some time ago, but now with this connection to Grand Dam, water quantity and quality will not be a problem anymore. The Director of the Grand Dam water supply project, Mr Owen Shepherd, guaranteed a steady supply for the growing cities without any difficulties and this for the next 50 years.
Most of the pipeline was laid underground in all municipalities and only soemtimes, where the terrain does not allow undergroung piping or where regular check-ups are needed the pipes come up to the surface for a short distance, just as we see here in Belding.

    /idealbb/files/1BeldingSunup.jpg
At 10:00 AM the last pipe was laid and the connection was done. Many visitors from all over came to witness this event. Even the Grand Ruler was present and tightened the last Bolt of the connection. Mr MacVicar form the Genesis Standard Mines, Mr Slayer from Slayer inc,Mr Smurfer from Smurfer Steel Ltd,Mr Swamper from Swamper signs and Mr Night from Stormy Night Law Offices were all present at the opening. They all have contributed to this project. Alexander MacVicar mined the ore for the pipes, while Swamper Steel made the pure steel out of it and Slayer poured and formed the pipes. Swamper did the signs to better find all the underground pipes and Mr Night was resposable for the legal actions that this project took to run through 6 municipalities.
Once accomplished, the word was given to Owen Shepherd that the valves should be opened in Birdsview, which already is enjoying the water from Grand Dam. Also Rilian, the owner and CEO of Rilian's Waterworks is waiting in Nexis East for the arrival of the water.
It took until 5:00 PM until the water was flowing through all the pipes and the first drops arrived in Nexis City.
Here in Belding, there will be a Maintenance Unit from Rilian's Waterworks, that will take of the repairing needs of the pipeline, whenever and wherever necessary. Mr Rilian now will make sure that all his connections are ready for the *big flow*.
    /idealbb/files/2Belding-Waterconnection.jpg
Henry Zeddicton, our computer specialist that works for the Nexis Electronics Company , is now working with the Giant side by side and more independently. Having an Office in Gloryville and Axis City, Mr Zeddicton has built his first Main-Office right here in his hometown of Three Towers North.
ZeCoSo, Zeddicton's Computer Solutions, is now on its way to glory. Every City and town is getting the new computer connections with the 3d screen, which is the best thing like being there. Still not on the market for the general population, it is mostly used for the gouvernment and only in its first experimental phase ,  for banking and other major institutions.
Henry had a conference with Joao Otavio a couple of months ago,and asked him to provide the ZeCoSo with a mini LBST system, that can be connected to his computer communication system, so that smaller things can be easily and instantly be shipped to its destination.
In other words: You can be on a 3-dimensional meeting with several other persons all over Genesis and hand them out a coffee or an important document within seconds at the same time. Like I said, it's like being there! Mr Zeddicton is about to figure it out how to make it all available one day at a smaller cost to the general puplic, which would certainly replace the telephone, fax, internet and postal service all in once. * this of course will take many years, I believe...,* Henry Zeddicton told the journalist from Rico Tv, *...but once installed it will be the biggest timesaver ever.*
    /idealbb/files/3ThreeTowers-ZeCoSo.jpg
Here is a look of Three Towers North's downtown, which has slowly been growing lately. Mr Zeddicton openend 200 fulltime jobs in his new office for the moment and many more to come, once the system will be totally functional.
Of course a big part of the invention comes from Nexis Electronics and also the material will be bought through this corporation, as a contract for 25 years was legally signed with Nexis and ZeCoSo at Mr Night's Laws Office in Grand Dam.
    /idealbb/files/4ThreeTowers-NorthDowntown.jpg
*This might be a boost for the Town...*, the Mayor of Three Towers said on a interview with the local paper, *...and who knows what Zeddicton might be up to in the future and we surely are greatful to him for starting it all here in our town.*
Three towers north has been more or less neglected in the last years with most of the population moving to Three Towers south, where the Pharmaceutical Institutions is. The southern part also has the Grand Movie Theater, where Rico Az showed his first film, and many other attractions and accomodations. Even our Genius Joao Otavio lives there.-But that could now change with Henry Zeddicton making a breakthrough in the computerworld here in Three Towers.
    /idealbb/files/5ThreeTowersOverview3.jpg

I will be back later this week, surely before the weekend, because I will stay home for awhile .....lol. Have fun!3.gif

By the way, any special place anyone would like to see?

That makes sense now thanks! I forgot you were using the power cheat.

The reason I asked is becasue when you are not using the power cheat, bridges will take power over water so you dont need power lines. But since you are doing it for visual reasons anyway, my question was redundant :)

fretz, now I understand your question,I didn't think you were talking about the power crossing the water with bridges. Yes indeed, the power travels over water in form of bridges, all of them.
But like I said, I use Powerlines to give it a better look, even if they are not always connected.....lol1.gif

stjern swe, Nexis City and Nexis East will be on the next update.2.gif

Well, with  all that I've been up to, I've still found time to apprectiate the beauty of life. Melissa is pregnant with twins the doctors say. Good thing we have a mansion now.  The sawmill operation  is going well from what I hear.
There are times I wish I had a rapid transit system of my own between all my assets, I should contact ZeCoSo and see if they would like some resources for any projects that are coming up in the form of instant transportation and such....
As for Miss Kitty, I will allow her to rent the land at a per year cost, but she will own whatever she places on it. My concern is if I let her simply buy it, others will come calling. I bought all this land for a reason. Some of which to keep  naturistic andpristine. Some to use for business. Speaking of property, the mall was a good deal. Its fairly profitable, but I dont expect to buy another mall anytime soon.. I need to scout out more sites for future farms and experiment with growing things in different climates...
There have been whisperings made in town of Hawklyn Valley for this area. While it sounds nice to me, I dont think thefamily back home would like it too well as theres  a Hawklyn River there as well as a valley. So even if I am one of the towns leading figures, I still do not think of this as mytown by any means, yes I happen to own most of the land here, but  West Axis [it is west right?] should remain west Axis..

Now that my little thought jourmal is done.. Whats this Rilian/hawklyn thing?

The Rilian/Adley thing as you call it Adley, is only a rumour at this moment. We have no idea right now what this is all about. But here is what DrEvel has heard, while he was listenening in on some conversation (accidently of course) between Rilian and Hawklyn at the time when they come to have a cup of coffee at his Main Starbucks from time to time:
**They are talking about buissness, no doubt, because I have heard them say, that contracts must be signed first at MrNight's office, also permits are needed  from the Regional Administration Office and they also talk about enormous amounts of

Jim, yes the construction in Axis Harbour is finished since a long time now and if you look carefully at these lots, you will see that these are not construction lots, but shiploading lots.

brett_131, yes all these cities are from one region. To be exact only from a third or so of one region (shown below) This region is my second biggest one, 8 x 12 in size and containing 96 townships (all medium maps)

timotheus, you are almost 2 years old now and started to walk......2.gif

    /idealbb/files/GenesisIVRegionSmall.jpg
I tried to attach a bigger jpeg file of this region, something like a 2754x1264  picture, but everytime I try to attach something to a post, it shows me the following error. The file is not too big, it will even do it with a 1 byte file. I just cannot attach anything to a post on ST.
    /idealbb/files/aaa4.JPG

If someone can attach it for me, that would be nice, since it is worthwhile to see the region in all the details. It is in zip format and all you do is unzip it to your desktop and then open it with either mspaint or even better irfanview and you get a close look of all the details of the Genesis region.

So, pm me with your e-mail.Thanks!1.gif

Being a firefighter in real life here in rainy england, I would like to offer my services as the fire captain of gloryville.

Name = Captain Kirk (yes kirk is my last name in real life!)
Place Gloryville ; a fire station with 4 pumping appliances and a TL (beserker666 has done a TL model)

Amount of workers would be $22, $$10 & $$$5 per shift (4 shifts) so total would be $88, $$40 & $$$5 (as this includes myself and 4 other senior members of staff)

If possible best place for firestation would be near the Harbour (highest risk)

Building probably the modern fire station lot that has 4 appliances.
for your story let me know if you want to add some real life ammusing incidents we have attended over the years and some good incidents that would happen in real life to make it more realistic.

where I would live is probably in the station house itself or next door.
O and to finish off Gender = Male (last time I looked anyway! 18.gif

Let me know if you need more info and I look forward to protecting the people of Gloryville

    Thanks for the welcolm.

I hope I can be of service in your city and general fire scenario information. I am slightly knackered as we had a 14 pump fire at an old historic hall last night, we are suspecting arson. whilst at the canteen truck having my break got chatting with a few of the guys and got a few more intresting amusing scenarios!!! I'll post a few if you wish of true real life ones. I'm waiting to update my computer to an Athlon 64 chip next year and I'll be starting on a large brand new region of which I will start posting my progress.

Great city and region hope to see more screen shots and progress. You have set a good example of a way to build your city based on a story and so far its unique, well done.

    cheers
