I have been a little busy again in the last days, and now I'm back with the journal.

 

We havn't been to Axis South for awhile, the City that our Rico Az is mayoring. Lately Brett, our Commercial Skyscraper Specialist spent some months in this big Town and changed the looks of Downtown with some Hi-Risers, making it more look like a City.
Brett, now hiring almost 200 workers directly and I have no idea how many indirectly, own 4 companies of Commercial Construction in every gigger town. *When it comes to Hi-Risers, talk to Brett!* it often says on public commercial advertisements.
Axis South has a great futur and always had ever since Rico became the Mayor. Rico also owns the TV Station in Gloryville and just finished producing his first film , which its opening show was in Three Towers lately.

 

Now to the mystery of Lichen.
The whole county is closed for to the public since a week now and scientists and Mathematicians from all over are studying the strange happenings there.
Let me explain:  There is a very strong and powerful  source of light, almost a lazer, in the forest nearby the village, but strange, because you cannot see it when your on ground in its vicinity. Once you are exactly on the spot where the light is, you will see nothing at all. only from distances above, one can see this light. The light is variable, because it has been reported that sometimes it lights up the village during the nights.
All this is non-explainable at the moment and Joao Otavio, who is on vacation here in Round Lake Junction at the moment, was invited to come and have a look, also our chemist Vatt, working with Evermind in the preparation for the voyage to Verto and Opall, was asked over.

Here is a picture in the daytime of this mysterious light.
The closer you get by foot on the ground, the less intensive it becomes, but it never changes intensity from a plane or even the satelite.
The whole township was sealed bu the Holmes Security and the Army, just in case. There is a public briefing in the Grand Dam Arena every evening and I will be there to keep you informed of the development of this mystery. (more and better pics coming up as soon as the army releases them)

Another place that we haven't seen for awhile is Coarseville and the MacVicar Mines. So here is a general look of this growing town.

It looks interesting at night, with the Mines working 24hrs/day.
Here Mr Sven has some land for residential development ever since Alexander MacVicar found the ore-mine in this township, and now he is deviding the lots and selling them for residential constructions. Having invested only some small amounts in this land in his earlier years, he is now selling it for more than 12 times the sum. He is a successful realestate agent without doubt.

( Edit: ninten1 made me realize that I did two errors on this last picture. Wherever it says Lichen, it should read Coarseville.Sorry. )

 

In the next update, we will have a look at a terrible train accident that took the life of one of our personalities at the age of 52 only. It happened on the way from Gloryville to Coarseville in the township of New Sholes. Just terrible.- We will also assist to the spectacular funeral at the Grand Cemetary in Gloryville, where all the VIP's rest in peace from the beginning of Genesis.Thousands of people have come to offer their last respect.

In the nighttime shot of the place with the Rilian's mine and the MacViar mines, you put Lichen instead of Coarseville in two places.

For the other section about the pipe destruction, I had thought that you meant Birdsview, because from what you described and the screenshots, the pipe being outside and the small canyon appeared to be in Birdsview instead of Lichen.

Speaking of Lichen, I wonder what that glowing light is. Hmmm...

The next part is going to be sad. I hope that the person who died in horrible train accident can rest in peace.

Thank you ninten1 for pointing out my terrible error with Coarseville and Lichen. That happens when I am too much in a rush to make an update.

superchad, I have asked everyone about their families in the story and if I don't hear from them soon, it will stay in my decision what I will do about their heritage, unless they pm me about it.

The ones that have families, their heritage will continue in the story, but I will only mention them once in awhile and I will not go into details though, but since they made a difference in the story and we talked about them for several months, their story will be remembered from time to time.

 

I know the next update will be sad, but there will be more than 30 sad moments coming up. Just like they arrived , they will go, one by one. That is a part of life. It always ends up with death, even in this story.

 

There will be a first one and a last one, and many in between.

I will chose the personalities as I go on with the story and I have a pattern though that I cannot tell for the moment, but you will probably find out after 3 or 4 deaths, why I chose them first Sorry, if you are chosen and you think your time did not come, but I have to start somewhere with someone (Hope that I am forgiven). IRL, I wish you a long and prosperous life though!

Those of you that did not have their moment of glory yet, don't worry, your time has not yet come. Some die young and others old and I have reserved a place for four of you, who will live past the 100 mark. (please don't ask me, you will find out with time who and also why)

 

Some new members will enter the scene also one by one later and I will choose them by who made his demand first. So , the first new one who will enter the round 2 of Nexis of Genesis will be Chad Benson (superchad) followed by some others that I will contact in the near future to find out first some more details and also if they are still interested in participating.

 

I have two names here that I did not make a note who it was, so please come forward and tell me who you are

Terrible News:

 

Last night in New Sholes near the train station in the industrial Sector a terrible accident occured. The train has stopped at the station for passengers to leave and enter as always at this time of evening in the week and therefore blocking Mainstreet of the town for a few moments.
Now exactly what happened has not been officially stated yet, but the investigating Officer from Holmes Security, told the press : *This is what we have at the moment. The cause of the explosion and the fire were caused by a propane tank, the ones that everyone uses for their BBQ. Now why is yet a spectaculation. A little Van transporting these gaz tanks hit the train at high speed for a reason not yet known.The tank exploded and three people were instantly killed, the driver of the car and two in the passenger train. Many others were wounded with minor to serious burns.* - One of them was a person we all well knew. Miss Elizabeth White,51 years, from Black Lake was gone for the day shopping in Gloryville and on the train going back home that night. She was one of two that got instantly killed on board the passenger car of the Black Lake train.

 

The funeral was held this morning in the Capitol. The Grand cemetary was her last destination and hundreds of people were present. The Ceremony was held by her first employer on Genesis, Ciroyon (now 90 years old),who is also the Mayor of Axis City. Many of our personalities and also some VIP's , such as Mr Nexis himself,a few of the Rulers and even the Grand Ruler were here to present their last respect to one of the most appreciated people on Genesis. A moment of silence was demanded by the 14 employees of Ms White.

Miss Elizabeth White was the last decendant from the millenium old conquering White family, which has discovered the Urulian continent on Uru, as we all have read earlier in this story. Ms White created the parks around the Highway 1 in Axis City and managed to build a natural sound barrier with these parks. The park is many miles alongside the highway. Then she was the responsable for many parks after, one of them well known is the Oriol Memorial Park in Fallow Canyon. Then Elizabeth started her own historical Park of the White family, her ancestors, in Black Lake, which is now one of the best animated Parks and tourist attractions on Genesis. This park is the most visited place on Genesis, right after the Evermind Mountain in Smurfmind.

 

Since Miss White did not have any decendants of her own and she was the last of the White family, her heritage went entirely to the town of Black Lake and the *White's Historical Park* will continue for as long as it is possible, since it is Urulian and Nexian History and therefore part of our heritage. One of her loyal students that Ms White always hired during the busy seasons will continue to lead the museum and park.-May Miss Elizabeth White rest in peace and be well remembered.

How sad! I just hope she can rest in peace - and doesn't haunt some place for 500 years... Oh well, life continues as (almost) always. One death doesn't mean doom, but of course it is sad thing. I should be safe, since dear Mr. Bison has promised moment of glory for us all; I haven't had it yet. Nice update; nice but sad...

Yes , I got Urulia back again, only one thing though I cannot play too much in it anymore, because it has the tendency to crash on me, when I plopp too many bldgs at the same time.

I have to do some clean up in this city, bulldoze some buildings, which I took out from the plugin folder.

 

That was the problem. I did a good clean up in my plugin folder a couple of months ago. I took out something like 1300 lots and Bats, that weren't good enough for me to keep,then when I went back to the cities, they did not open or crashed at once.

 

A few weeks ago I put all these lots back in and then started to bulldoze all these lots, but in a City of almost 600K it ain't easy to find ALL the lots, because some are still showing the buildings and not the box.

It will take some time to get it all back, there are 4 cities like this........

 

Once I finished I will show some pics from this Giant.

Some news form Lichen: Joao Otavio just arrived there, but cannot stay very long, because his vessels will arrive near Opall this week and he has to be On Uru to direct the landing from the space Center in Urulia.
As I said before, this is a very strong light, that cannot be located once you're on the ground, so it ain't a lost hiker. It is seen only from a distance or from above.
Some 20 scientists and others are working on this phenomen right know.

Today we will visit the slow growing south of Genesis, which is only slowly developping, but worthwhile to have a look at once in awhile.

We all have met Kate Springs, which is a farming community, quite small and very peaceful. Even Sherlock Holmes has no intentions to start his security here for the moment, because nothing happened here yet.
Adley Hawklyn from the West Axis Hawklyn Valley Farms, did buy some land here to grow nothing else but cucumbers. He says that this is the best place for it, because of the right amount of moisture this area gets and the very rich black soil, that the vegetable needs to grow healthy. Adley hired 4 people who will take care of this farm, the fourth now outside West Axis (one in Axis South,two in Treeland and this one here in Kate Springs)

 

Here is voyage in time,we will see the development of a small village, step by step, quite interesting by the way.
The picture are shot from the same angle, so you can really see the difference in less than 4 years of existance of this township.

First Tim Chula bought the right to cut the Nuganty trees in this county. With help of the Stormy Nights Law Offices in Grand Dam, he was able to get the only right to cut these trees in the whole area. Mr Night himself arranged the contract with the Rulers in Gloryville.
Mr Chula is allowed to cut no more than 35 % of the total forest and only with select cutting. If he reaches the point to cut more, he will be asked to replant the double the amount that he cuts, only to preserve the massive existance of this highly demanded tree-species,which only grows here and is slow to grow.
This rich reddish brown hardwood is in demand because of its durability and looks. No other hardwood comes close to it, except the Pomertine tree on Uru, which is almost extinct these days. Only very few people own things made of this wood, like MacVicar has a table and chairs made of it.
With this right to cut the Nuganty trees obtained from the Regional Administration Office, Adley started a sawmill near a river and hired a dozen workers or so to get it running. The freshly cut trees have to be kept moist for awhile after cutting and that's why Adley chose the riverbanks for his Mill.

A year later his workforce has increased to about 30 strong and many started building their homes here, while being garanteed for an almost lifetime job by Tim Chula. That also drew some first commerces, such as a General Store and a Hardware outlet.- Now this is starting to look good and it might be a nice and quiet place to live.

In the same year,about only 6 months later, a restaurant and even an Used Car dealer has arrived and Mr Chula now hires more than 40 workers now.

It is in the 3 rd year it really happened and the village was named, a mayor elected and a cousel formed. Now almost 150 Residents form this village, called Moose Bone because of one of the Explorers found a lot of moose skeletons in the earlier years, and the name stayed for it to become this township.
Seeing that more and more people are taking the 2 hour car ride to get here and only to visit these forests, someone had the idea to implant an Asian-style Hotel and Restaurant in this village, to give the travelers some comfort for an overnight stay. Of course, this buissness hires half a dozen or so people and new residents arrived shortly after.- Also because of these many citizens that asked some religion, a church was built.

But 6 months later really did it and it has become a solid independant village or even a small town, one may call it so. Now you can even buy your clothes and your new TV set here, plus get a haircut and change the tires of your vehicule.- Smaller Appartment blocks are appearing and more residential and commercial lots are demanded for. The Town counsel even made a demand to Dan, our School commission Director in Gloryville, for some kind of an educational institution right here in Moose Bone. Dan is about to have a look at this possibility.
All of this because of our friend Tim Chula, who started all this only 40 months ago.
This was only a look at one of our villages that got started, but if you go back in time, it happened everywhere similarily. Another good example was New Sholes with the arrival of the oil pumps and today a town of more than 20,000 citizens.

Here is an overlook of the Moose Bone area with its winding river that comes from the Kate Springs Lake. We can easily see the dark green forest of Nuganty trees.

This is an aerial shot from the lesser developed south, only to show you where Kate Springs and Moose Bone are situated,far from everything. The only way at the moment to access his part of the region , is by the Highway 1 that connects the northern regions with the south. It takes 2 hours to go to Moose Bone, when you come from Gloryville and almost 3 hrs from Axis City.
