Well, The Evil Octopus Man, I have a problem there to find you the bldg, because I have no idea what it is called and where I got it from. I cannot even query it, because the City doesn't exist anymore and it is not in my regular menu, but probably somewhere in the older BATfiles, but which one?.

Does someone know what's it called?

If I have the name,I might find it then.

The Evil Octopus Man, The region of Uru crashed early this summer and I am not able yet to enter this region again, somehow something's wrong, the whole region does not open anymore. Eversince I made a giant clean-up in my files . I used to have more than 1700 lots and Bats in my plugin folder and it was starting to slow down my starting of the game a bit, so now I only have about 300 left, the best ones of course.....lol

 

The other 1400+ bats and lots are in a different folder, but I will have  a look at these with the reader, maybe I will find it there. As soon as I find it, I will send it to you.

Meanwhile, if someone knows the name of this bldg or knows where too download it, just mention it here please.

 

raindog, I have another version of the same valley, that I use once in awhile as a wallpaper (shown below as my desktop) This is the Highway version,and I also attached the jpeg file for the wallpaper below.

Good idea with the bandwith, only one problem, I don't seem to get it right, or it's my 28K connection with AOL that don't want the pictures to be uploaded. It just don't work.

Same with Simcity.com, I can't upload or download anything from that site...........and believe me folks ' I have tried since more than a year!

 

So you probably have all realized that I already resized the picture format 3 times so far in my CJ. Well, if it gets too difficult for ST, I will probably end the story in a quick way. That's all that I could do for the moment.

Ah. I finally read the whole story of Genesis, it took my quite some time I can tell you, but it was more than worth it! I'm very impressed with the flooding you did one page ago, the results are stunning! Too bad the rain tool doesn't allow saving; and as for the landbridges as wallpapers: Never thought it would be possible to build those in SC4, great job!!

Just a little question, out of curiosity: That big mysterious piece of rock in Urulia: were you inspired by 2001 Space Odyssey??

And: could it be that the approach of Opall affects climate conditions on Genesis, which in turn causes instabilities in the weather with a major flood as a result?

Can't wait to read more since I've finally caught up with the story!

Perhaps if you can't sort out the picture problem you can find someone to upload them for you and send you the links aftermath.

Try uploading an 1kb picture (a 1x1 pixel jpg file) to see if the problem is at the slow connection or in AOL...

The bug with uru/nexis is because you are missing some key-plugin and whenever it is missing, the region that used it crashes.

Try getting all those 1500 files back to the plugins folder to see if it works

Don't End this Ciy Jorunal it is my favorite, and i just applied for the story, i don't whant to be left out, get Cable or DSL internet, even if you get cable or dsl and are unable to countinue, at least make the regions and plugins required avaibile for download.

 

 

P.S. use my idea make as much of the city journal story and photos as possible before you post it, so when you post it it is already ready to go.

slayerovsims,I did not delete Uru, I just can't get in at the moment. The Uru region simply does not open.I have to take some time and have a look.

 

utora, well, Yes, I kinda got inspired by Space Odysee 2001 and also, this was my second ever BAT that I did., mostly for trying out things.

 

Well , I can see that you are thinking.....lol.......Yes , the weather (and not only the weather as you all might realize)  is being influenced by Opall, but we find that out later. Most of our readers don't know yet, so be quiet about this, ok?

And I also have tried to put back in all the files that I took out, but nothing changed with the Uru region. I deleted some files, but I cannot remember which ones, I will have a look at this later (too much to do lately)

Hey......

 

 

here is an update that will keep you busy for awhile, so get yourself a cup of coffee (I recommend DrEvel starbuck's) a tea , a liquor or a beer (18 years and over only) because this will take some time to read and understand in all details. We will be talking about EVERY participant in our Story here, one by one in no special order.

No pictures this time (this is already big enough), they will come back later in the futur posts. Let's simply concentrate a little bit on our heroes and their news.I have also included the age at this precise moment for everyone and some private remarks.

Here we go,ready or not!!!

Ninten,(39 y.o.)and living in Tenzel Outlet at the moment, is still working on the tourist Station in Smurfmind and his plans will be ready next week , to be presented to the futur owner, Vallen Nexis.
He also just finishd the construction of the new developpment in Round Lake City, which Jim didn't have time to do and is a bit jealous of. Doing better than ever, Ninten has some new contracts signed and the next two years will be very successful for him.- Of course we all remember that Ninten is on the Genesis Regional Counsel as an elected and active member now.

Vatt, our Chemist,is still the Departyment Director in the Laboratory in Axis City. Now he is 34 y.o. and still living in Axis City . close to the canal, he accepted the offer from the Genesis Chief of Scientists, the job as the Regional Director of the Genesis Research Commission and will be on the way to Verto soon , with his group of 10 other Junior scientists and chemists. Almost an important man now, he couldn't be happier to have accepted this job, now working for the Government itself.

Sherlock Holmes (36 y.o.) still is the owner of half a Bar(Pub) in Axis City (where he started his first job on Genesis), and is planning to open another one in Gloryville, with the same name,the *Axelot Pub*. This is more or less a hobby for him, since he is the rightful owner of the Genesis Security Service, or also known as Holmes Security. His HQ is in Bolton , but many offices has been opened in several municipalities since. Right now, the Company is responsable for the Nexis Railways,Genesis first bank of commerce,the townships of Axis South,Grand Dam, Three Towers,Gloryville,Axis City,Black Lake and now even Nexis City and Nexis East. Tenzel is still on his list, although it already has his office, but the mayor did not quite decide yet, since Tenzel Outlet have their own Police and lately , they have proofed worthwhile, although Mr Holmes mentioned that it was only Luck. Holmes Security hires over 100 Security Officers, plus the Office team (Manager, secretary etc).Right now, he is waiting for Jim's Construction to build his dreamhouse on the Bolton Hill.

MrNight (30 y.o.) and the proud owner of Stormy Night Law Offices in Grand Dam and now in Gloryville also. His cabinet has more than two dozen lawyers and procecuters at the moment, and is very well known for their professional work. Mr Night himself has a personal percentage quote of all the garbage sent to Stone Valley from Axis South, which had a big garbage problem earlier. With this surplus income, he was able to build himself a top-mansion on the beaches of the Grand Dam, with the beautiful view of the Statue Island on the dammed (not damned) lake. His Companies takes care of all the deals between Smurfer Steel,Swamper signs, Nexis Corp.,Slayer Inc and many more. He is also a part of the Holmes Security in some small way, I heard. Now , he will be helping Rilian's Waterworks to get a good start in Gloryville and elsewhere.

Mr Vegetable, the quiet guy (33 y.o.) we haven't heard from him for awhile and some were even wondering, if he was still alive. Well, he is and he is doing well, but kept out of the Spotlight lately , only to concentrate on his new project to come soon. Mr Vegetable was the one that helped Ciroyon to plan his Axis City and Axis Harbour, then he replanned Axis South lately for Rico Az, the mayor. Now he is very busy designing the architectural plans for the extensions of Gloryville, to connect with Tenzel Outlet. But this is what he was working on lately: his new Construction Company of Residential,Commercial and Industrial. He will refuse smaller jobs, such as building individual homes and smaller offices or stores, but instead concentrating more on the *bigger jobs*.
At the same time, he will be continuing the extensions of Nexis East and Nexis City. We will hear more about him in the future. Now his Company,Mr Vegetable and Co Architects, count almost 40 people in all. He still lives in the Penthouse in Gloryville, near the Centerpond and the Natural Park.

Rico Az (39 y.o.), the re-elected Mayor of Genesis' third biggest City, Axis South,and the owner of the Gloryville TV-Station and soon the Radio Station in Nexis City, that he is planning to open .Mr Az just finished his first movie and it will be shown in Three Towers in four months.The title is *Conflicts*, an action movie about two different towns that have a competition problem and started a private war.If this will be a hitmovie, we don't know yet, only little is known about his work.
With the garbage solution that Mr Night resolved for him in Axis South, Rico Az is now making more money for the City than ever, which of course leads to better services and lower Taxes. An immigration demand to Axis South of more than 6000 people has beeen filed for the next year.Just imagine that!?- I guess, he will be elected again in 5 years. Anyways, he is doing much better than Ciroyon in Axis City.
Rico just bought a couple of hundred acres towards the west of his City, to construct his home, ranchtype probably. He is still living in the Penthouse of his wealthy Appartment block near the river.

Kevin Slayer (36 y.o.) and the owner of Slayer Inc, who is manufacturing, well..........all kinds of things I heard (balloons?), but mostly Space vessel engines and pods of all sorts. This Company is mostly working for the Nexis Corporation (Space Division) and for some other Companies on Uru. Receiving all his refined metals from Smurfer Steel, he is one of the biggest clients of this Steel Manufacturing Company. Mr Night usually takes care of the legal actions between the two Giants in person. Mr Slayer sold the Dice Mansion lately to an Urulian Group, called Sirius,and with the profit , he is about to build a new and unique Mansion in the new Township of Skinner. He once said , that a private party will be done once the Mansion that Jim will build (probably the biggest one he ever build) A party for everyone that he knows...Wow, even I was invited, so are the Nexis', Smurfer, MrNight and all the others of his private friend-circle.

Alexander MacVicar (42 y.o.) and the oldest member of our personality family, is probably the most known also. Owner of more than 60% of the Genesis Standard Mine Corporation and the MacVicar Mines, plus a partner of the garbage and useless material evacuations and recycling in Stone Valley, he is on the list of the 5 richest and most important people of Genesis. His mines are in Coarseville, but other townships that are now opening with the arrival of Highway 3 towards the west, are of interest to Mr MacVicar, for further mining of semi-precious metals , such as copper and Aluminum.
At the moment, Alexander has no competition and probably will never have one either, now that he is so big, that he hires more than 2000 workers of all sorts. If you folks have money to invest, do it with MacVicar Mines, the best investment place to do so on Genesis. Sven has some important sums involved with this Company.
Mr MacVicar has a cottage in Red Poll and a home in Coarseville that is for sale, and he just bought a Villa in Gloryville, near the Plaisance-Harbour that he probably tear down and build his dreamhouse. He also is waiting for Jim to find time to build his futur home.

Tim Chula,now almost 40,and not yet well known to our community, used to work for the Razor Blade Logging Industries before, but just barely started his own Logging company in Black Lake, where he has bought many hundreds of acres of woodland. He lately approached the Rulers in Gloryville to offer his services for the clearing of land for Town and City expansions for less than 30 % of the costs that Razor Blade offers. Of course, it didn't take long to sign a contract with the Regional Commission Office in Gloryville, for the next two years. When Razor Blade heard of this, a mean growl was heard from  the owners.
Tim has his home, lost somewhere at the end of his private road on the west side of the Black Lake, near his sawmill. A year ago, he was offered a very big sum of money for his operation by the giant of Razor Blade, but Mr Chula refused, for the reason to make his dream come true and be independant.

Wren Trey (35 y.o.)and living in Nexis City, is an independant Electronics salesman, Wren Electronics. He has a store in Axis City and Nexis City and hiring a little bit over 30 electronic specialists. Not very successful until now, but with the signing a contract with Nexis Electronics, Mr Troy Nexis, Wren is on the way to build a chain of stores in different towns now. We will keep a close eye on him in the near futur, that could be very interesting for him and us of course.

Dutch, (21 y.o.) and not yet known at all, is a young fellow that is here on Genesis since a couple of years, but I would like to introduce him here and today, because he might be worthwhile to follow his futur life. Strangely he lives on a very small houseboat, stationed in the Gloryville Pleasance harbour and works in a corner Pub near the Regional Commission Office , only a 10 minute walk from his *domain* on the water. They say, that he works more than 60 hours a week,hm....that's a lot.He has dreams of ......we'll find that out later.

Barby,(39 y.o.) the owner of the Barby's Vacation Center in Gloryville,and right on the top of the hill and touching the Natural Park. She had made an important expansion of her Vacational Paradise and is also very active in the Megantic (Oxalis)developpment commision. She owns a big land lot there too, since many years.
Since she is well known for the protection of the Natural Park in Gloryville, she was just elected as the Director of this organization, to conserve the Gloryville Natural Park. Last year ,Miss Barby organized a strike to stop the intrusion of commercial and residential construction in the Park. Freddy Bison was about to build a Giant Appartment block in that area, when she interfered and stopped this sad intrusion to nature. The case was won by Ms Barby. Barby lives in one of her Loghomes.

Tim (38 y.o.) and the official Director for the Nexis Corporation Space department on ground, has been working with Evermind Wellwisher in the last 4 years on the Nexis Space Station Program, to then build a similar Station on Ground in Gloryville for students and tourists. Now he is still on the Space Program with the Nexis Corp, but seems to be interested in starting his own buissness and manufacturing of pods, motors, drives, lunch and trajectory computers and space station parts somewhere soon.
He lives in Axis City near the Highway one, close to the park, but somehow would like a new home somewhere else.

That blue house in Gloryville, that one of the early settelrs lived in is HISTORICAL it should stay THERE the owner that whants it torn down needs to build his house somewhere else, or right next to that house, and that house could be a museum

 

And tenzel outlet is the 2nd or 3rd city established, it should stay on its own, it is HISTORICAL

I'd like to sign up to this story, as soon as there's space available. Horatio Utora would love to settle on Genesis, more specifically in Cedar Bay. Horatio is, or will be, a brilliant novelwriter writing romance stories and travelling novels about the beautiful, virginal world of Genesis (if that's ok with you). He has just completed his literature education at Messelmonde University, New Holland and desperatley wants to see everything there is in the universe, to begin with Genesis.

Horatio will patiently wait for his approval to settle on Genesis, since the immigration laws are very strict...

superchad, I understand what you mean by keeping the historical monuments and buildings as it is a part of Genesis' heritage, but some places cannot and will not kept in their original state. Money of course plays an important role there too.- For  Tenzel Outlet, it will join in with Gloryville, no matter what, again a matter of Financing, but it will keep its original name of Tenzel Outlet. Only the governing goes to the Capitol, otherwise it will be preserved as is.

 

timotheus, Dutch is a new fellow more or less, but he has been there for a couple of years and only now he seems to become interesting to follow. Dutch is *dutchneworlanian* here on ST(ouff...hope I got that name right)

 

utora, your demand for immigration has been accepted, and as soon the story ends for someone here, you will be on 6th place to join. Please send more info (pm please) about this character and his family later in life. You will be around 20 when coming to Genesis.

 

Zeddic, yes Henry has a darn good future coming soon, better don't miss it....lol. If you didn't read the whole story, do you understand it all though? Because sometimes I go back to the past to stir up some details .

Ok, here are some news from this week in Gloryville's Tv that I saw this morning and I thought to share with you all.

 

The farmers market in Gloryville opened their doors last night and it was a great success for the first night. This market is open to the public and fresh fruits and vegetables, even some dried meat and fish from Axis harbour are offered here once every week. Of course the stamp of the Hawklyn Valley Farms is on almost half of the products, even if the inondation did great damage to their crops.

 

A photograph from the  Tenzel Police 'Copter of a speed boat at 2:00AM this morning  was sent to Holmes Security in Gloryville directly by the new Intercity computer system that Henry Zeddicton just installed two weeks ago. Holmes Security intercepted this *midnight sailor*and after some searching on the speedboat, several pounds of a drug, called *Milledarnk*, which is stricty forbidden in this part of Genesis,were seized and the driver was arrested.

The boat belonged to Bernie, the owner of Bernie's Boat in Gloryville. Some agents from Holmes were sent there with a search warrant and they found another load of this dangerous drug that seems to come from the eastern region. Bernie and some of his hired hands were arrested. Here you can see the Newsvan from Rico Az's Tv station, which had the population informed this morning.

Holmes will get in contact with the Eastern Region Police to stop this once and for all.

Another arrest, something less serious and maybe even a bit funny, was of a man in his 30's who was bathing nude in the Gloryville Bay , yesterday afternoon .He told the police that he simply forgot to put on his bathing suit........

the goverment should control it, or the goverment could pay to move it, or some how preserve it in its current condition and get you a better piece of land, and you could run the museum as a genisus history museum and macke even more money.

Well, that filled his agenda for a few years I guess. A financial group from Uru, called Sirius Corporation ( one of the richest on Uru) is on the first place on Brett's list. He will be building their HQ in Axis South soon. Will this Skyscraper be taller than the Commerce Bank? Rumours are so and Brett doesn't want to comment at this time.

In less than a year after the Highway 3 went through Nexis City and back onto the Mainland, Cedar Bay was founded. And it didn't take long with all the immigrants that come from Uru, that a town was well established.

A small part of Cedar Bay belongs to Nexis City,( meaning it belongs to Vallen Nexis himself),the small part of the island.

This newly founded township will have a great future in the manufacturing world, already hiring more than 3000 Nexians.

Lyll Nexis should be able to meet the deadline for the railways next month, and a plan to build an airport has been made, it will be build north of Cedar Bay, in the township of Tenzel Inlet (not outlet), just above Cedar Bay, where the Tenzel river meets the Nexis Lake.

 

A closer look at the town reveils that many small homes have been built. All these new immigrants just love the Highway, which makes the journey to Nexis City only 30 minutes long. Gloryville thopugh is about an hour and a half from here.

 

The Mayor in Nexis City is all excited about this new township, growing like weed. On a press conference he said: *A working neighborhood like this, I think, is about that any Mayor wishes for his town's economy.*

Of course Nexis City will be more in demand now than ever, even if the land there costs a fortune, and Cedar Bay will be also glad to have a rising City as a neighbor, where anyone can find anything for their needs.

Rilian  has already offered his pipeline of Drinking water to the new town, and Dr Evel can't wait to receive the new (and many ) customers from Cedar Bay.

Poor Dan ,our schoolcommission Director,just received a demand for another 100 kids in the Nexis Elementary School, which just became to small all of sudden....*We simply will build another one* Vallen Nexis said to the press, when asked how to handle this situation.

 

We will have a better look at the industries and the new town around the bay, in all details tomorrow
