spants.....The water is so clear, because there is NO pollution on Genesis yet........lol.....no, only kidding.

 

Yes I have a mod, but I don't know what its name is ,it comes with the waterplants mod and is available here on Simtrop.Look around in the mod section and I am sure you will find it.Maybe search for Aquatic plants.

Now that we have talked about the two biggest towns of Genesis sufficently last weekend, we will have a look at some of the smaller towns and villages, before we go back to Uru and to other events here on Genesis.

 

The Power of Grand Dam now is gladly appreciated by a lot of municipalities, and even without it,Axis wouldn't have grown that fast and big, doubling its electricity needs almost every 3 months.
This is where it is produced,just below the Dam. Together with the pumping facility for fresh and drinking water, this whole system of Grand Dam gives jobs to almost 1500 Nexians. One of them is Sherlock Holmes the IV (wild_horse_in_the_sky), who got himself a Night-time job at the Central Office of the Electricity facility as a Security Agent. Now that he has invested his hard earned money into 2 Pub-Bars , he will point himself into the direction of Security, something he always liked a lot. His dream is to open a Security Company, something as big to be able to handle all security needs of Genesis.Think Big!.

 

Grand Dam, never before intended to become a town, is on its best way to become one now. A large building,the tallest on Genesis yet,was built by the young mayor to attrack tourists. On a TV talk show he said:* We have the biggest construction that Nexians and Gaburans did in co-operation on Genesis, plus we have the biggest Electricity plants that have ever been built, so we might as well have tourists to enjoy these small wonders.* -The tower was built for four purposes. First for the Hotel which is situated in the lower section of the building,second the outlook terrace on top, with a view,you must see,third the four star Restaurant just below the outlook deck and finally to draw a lot of tourist to it, since it is giant in height.
One tourist,Barby, said when she came here on a visit that one can only imagine what it's like from up there , *I can even see my log-mansion in Gloryville from here on a clear day *,she said all excited,* And the view at night of all the lights of the Capitol is so stunningly beautiful*.
A giant statue on Bird's Island has been erected to welcome all the New comers to Grand Dam.

Although Axis will probably hurt the little town with its New Gigantic Harbour, Tenzel Outlet is still growing, and slowly some industry is moving in. Space and land in Tenzel are a real bargain, probably to encourage the mass to come here .Many have already bought their piece of land and it looks bad for those who will be wanting to come here later, since already 60% of the lots available have been sold and/or reserved. Just to mention a few, who bought land here in Tenzel, whether for futur use, or for investment only are: Smurfer, the fellow that climbed the big mountain with Evermind and has discovered the Smurferlake, has bought himself quite a big piece of land near the harbour. He must have something in mind for his futur.

 

So did Evermind, his partner in climbing the mountain,she bought a good sized lot right in the middle of the town. Now that she works on the Space Station Project that Vallen Nexis is planning,she said that she needed a place to plan all this and this was the best spot she could find to start with.
Swamper who has a small shop here in Tenzel to make his signs, now he bought off the neighbor to expand his buissness,while also he hired two fellows to help him with all the contracts he is getting lately.
He just opened his fist buissness in the name of *Swamper Signs Reg'd*, being his own boss now.

 

Also in Tenzel, Jim is building his own home now, on the Harbour Island, just on the other side of the Hill. Having made a tiny fortune in Axis with building homes, such as Vatt's and Wren Trey's homes, Jim bought a big piece of land beside and behind his home.Some say, he wants to build a residential area there later, when the zone has been given free to build. Good idea, but also a good investment.
A smaller town, but so many well known people here, *Tenzel might have a chance to survive the impact of Axis*, Ninten said to the mayor, when he bought a terrain to build his home here also, * even if I work in Axis on the harbour*.

This is the industrial Part of Tenzel Harbour.

The Mayor of Tenzel has even opened a public beach. Most of the beach land is now in private hands, so not much space was available, but if needed later, the mayor has something else in mind. This will do for now. Sometimes the water gets pretty close all of sudden,but no one really knows why yet.

Some complaints about missing a firedepartment were made, when a new Appartment block blew up in pieces and also burned down some neighbors. Firefighters from Axis take too long to get here, people cried. This is a minus point for the mayor's next election.

This is what it looked like after the fire, even the brand new building beside it is to be torn down now. No one was hurt at least. The town counsil decided to build their own Fire station now in Tenzel, especially with the harbour now getting active

In Black Lake, the little village in the backlands, where still electricity is being produced by themselves, the town now has a ferry right over the middle of the lake to connect to the east part of this municipality on the other side of the lake.

The main  Westvillage of Black Lake is still very quiet and everyone knows everyone. Here Elizabeth White, the girl who made all the nice parks around the Axis Highway, lives in a beautiful home on the waterfront at the end of a street, near the ferry. * Sitting on my porch in the evenings and seeing the ferry bringing the people back home to the east of the lake, kinda is relaxing. That is about the only action we have here in Black Lake*. she said when asked how she liked it staying there.

Also here in Black Lake, Tim Cula, who is working for the Razor Blade Industries, bought a big piece of land with a lot of forest south of the village. Hm....is he about to start something here? Getting to know the logging world quite well now, maybe he is thinking of starting something of his own.

On the East side of Black Lake however, the first murder on Genesis was reported, which the Rulers in Gloryville took quite serious ,and they now think about having some police forces in all the townships now. So far only Axis South has a Police station and that is for the whole region. Gloryville will have one for sure and even New Sholes have started building one too.But this murder made it clear that we need at least one station in every township.
The man whos was murdered had a farm in Treeland and was raising race horses. Of course an investigation with the Axis Regional Police and the local Sherrif in Coarseville has been opened.
This put the whole police system in question: * Something has to be done soon!!* one of the Rulers said in a special meeting.

 

News from other districts:Henry Zeddicton has bought himself a home in North Three Towers ,and also went to see Brett to design his new store that he wants to build in Axis to open his computer selling buissness.Brett was delighted and he got right into the job of designing this CS building. That'll help me to finance my own Office soon.
Joao Otavio, still not able to figure out what's wrong with the LBST and almost starting to pull his hair out, will be going to Uru on the next flight, he says the problem is on the sending machine on Uru and not on the receiver here on Genesis. All excited he was packing his gear tonight for a 2 to 3 week stay on Uru.

About the others , we will be talking about in the next update.

Just before the weekend really starts, another small update.

 

annoyingdan, I will consider your demand for immigration, I will see what I can do.Teacher? hm........teaching what?

 

I was in Axis Harbour lately and was surprised how it developped.The harbour itself is almost finished and some industries have already started producing.Anyway , the trains are running!
It is very interesting harbour with a lot of docks and bays and whatsoever,I guess we will have a very close look at all this late

 

At night it seems to be working too.

Even some commerces and some residents have moved in and the canal is on its way of being finished also.It all looks good.....maybe Mayor Coriyon will make it!?

Before I leave for the cottage this morning, I will leave another short update to compensate until tomorrow night.
Thanks for the positive comments and MrVegetable,don't give up on your journal, just let your imagination roll out of its own.

 

Ok, first some news from Genesis. The fellow that did the murder in Black Lake was caught only a day after,and that proved that the Regional Police office was quite efficient. But still , the Rulers have decided to install a better security system ,together with the fire Department, all over Genesis.- This of course caught the eyes of Sherlock Holmes the IV, an occasion to grab and to start his Security Company,seing that security is widely needed everywhere on Genesis. To get everything going legally, he went to see Mr Night,who will help him to get a good start.

 

Mr Vegetable , more than busy with designing Axis and Axis Harbour, has now opened his own independant buissness and will soon open an office in Gloryville in the name of *MrVegetable and Architects Associates*.Although he designed Axis, Gloryville is his favourite, wonder why?

 

Rilian, someone we haven't heard  much of lately, is going into the water buissness, buying drinking water from Grand Dam and selling it to Nexis City,thinking seriously of making a decent living with that. He also started a sort of a hobby of collecting precious stones and metals from all over Genesis. By the way, he is the one that found the Gigantic piece of transparent Gold in the Dark Valley, which was used to build the Oriole's statue in Fallow Canyon  ( now called Oriole County), and which was the Gaburan's most appreciated *metallic mineral*.

 

Kevin Slayer, somehow made it through his financial crisis and was hired by Troy Nexis , who wants to open another department in the Metal and steel Production .Slayer agreed to the good pay and is already thinking of open his own steel production Company later, gotten the idea from Nexis. Maybe Troy will sell him this department of the Nexis Corporates?

 

Freddy Bison (that's me) was seen doing some transactions (legally I hope) with the Rulers to finally build himself a home in Nexis City's township, probably not far from Vallen, his friend.It will be somewhere in the east of it.....he likes the fishing there.

 

Adley Hawklyns, the owner of the Hawklyn's Valley Farms,has himself established quite well now, enlarging his farm almost every month and hired some 4 or 5 helpers. Rumours are that he is getting married.Hm...?

 

Vatt, the young fellow that studies science and chemistry, was approached by the Rulers, which are looking for someone to manage the new Chemical Laboratory, which will be constructed in  Tenzel soon. He was very delighted.

 

And here some more pics from the Axis Harbour. Some closer looks of the harbour itself. Many industries are already shipping by train and just waiting for the official openeing of the Harbour, due in some time.

 

 

 

Already considered busier that the Tenzel Harbour and also better situated than the last(see last picture on this post),this could be a disaster for the older town, struggling to survive beside Axis.

Now that Axis has also finished the connection of the canal with Axis City , the Residential part of Axis Harbour is ready to get started also.There is room for more than 10,000 residents, they say.

To give you all an idea of the region now, here is a satelite view of the north-east, where all the actions is sofar. Remember , when there was just a camp in Genesis Station (now Gloryville) in the beginning ?

 

Some more will be coming up tomorrow. We will be talking about Oriole's statue, the Space station, Uru and Joao Otavio who is overthere,Nexis City being build, the official opening of Atlas, a new township , plus much more...........

 

I hope that I have ( and will continue to) encouraged and gave ideas for enjoying the game differently,see it from a different angle, to use your imagination and build different towns, cities or even landscapes. The possibilities are immense in this game and if you keep on reading, I will show you more and more ideas that I have in store .

mrbisonm, the grand dam looks good. But with the size of it, radicals could blow the dam and cause a huge flood in the areas below. So my question is, is the dam strong enough?

Well, monei, you are right with that. That is one reason why the Municipality hired some security guards, such as Sherlock Holmes IV , which will take care of all the security at the dams.

And also , it has been tought over and over again, there could be some major changes within the next years, like reinforcements of the dam,electric fences all around it and also limiting the access in certain areas to the tourists.

 

If it should happen, you can be sure that everything to prevent it was done.What a mess it would be though. The first to take the shower  would be the Hawklyn's Valley farms and then Axis City and South Axis, but I am sure , one will get wet feet even in Bolton, Axis Harbour, Tenzel Outlet and even in Gloryville.

So far , there is no reason for terrorism, neither a revolution or even a war.Genesis is quiet, but security will be taken care of soon, plus the Rulers have already agreed to construct an army with defense systems.

All these organizations take time to build and let's only hope that peace is to rule Genesis.

 

By the way, the dam was constructed with an earth quake in mind .So it should resist a strong one easily.
