lol this huge dam thats being built right now sounds alot like the ones a certain electricity company in Quebec enjoys building here in there in the north of the province hehe...maybe you should call the new electricity company Hydro-Genesis hehe

Those dam pictures are probably the best ever put in a city journal. This story has also become the best journal on Simtrop, hands down. I hope you have fun writing this because I love reading it!

I have used stuff (lots, BATs and props) from all the stuff available here, but I have no idea which is which and what was created by who (too much), so Arphaxed Locus, I might use Gizmo stuff, but I couldn't tell you what they are.....sorry

I have too much stuff in my plugin folder (over 3500 files) to remember which belongs to who, so if you see your stuff here, you might mention it and give credit to yourself (if needed).

 

Afro, these lots will not be on the Stex to download, they are  for private use, and most of them are just parks, not even finished in all details.Once used , they go to the dump!

GrampaAl and BarbyW are working on the Lighhouse, to have it available on the Stex later as a Nexis BLS GA(or is it BSL GA)  lot.

 

The idea to make a giant construction site actually comes from a Dam here in  the North of Qu

 I will be leaving for the weekend and won't be back until later next week for another update. So here is a little teasing update of what is coming up then; and this is to keep you busy for the weekend.

 

- The Mega-Construction of the dam is advancing rapidly, as we can see here, but much more to do ( just a teaser, but not many pics of that, not to spoil the surprizes) .....

 

 

 

 

....and no pics of the following yet, you simply have to come back for that to see.......unless you do not like new ideas of how to play Simcity.

Coming up:

I might release the final BATs of the dam  (not shown yet),if the there will be a demand for it, but I don't think, these construction lots will be welcomed by most of you, since they have no meaning and editing done at all, just simple plops for the eyecandy of my story only.

But.....if someone absolutely wants them, just PM me and I might send the whole bunch by e-mail.

Wow, I can't wait to see the dam completed. A page back the park in Gloryville had some water plants in it or something. Where did you get those? Or are they in the game already, because I've never seen them.

I was gone for 4 days , on a mini-vacation, and I'll be back to continue the journal only on Wednesday or Thursday at the latest.

 

I was surprised to see so many comments.-- Conerning the park with the waterplants Vatt3, this is an older Nexis Lot and it is still available on the LEX.

Question is Uru going to bloww up and did you get the name from the Computer Game Uru? I patiently try to wait for the next update, can't wait for some more of the story[:0]

First, the name of Uru is completely coincidental with the computergame.I did not even know of the game , when I named the planet. I have an Aquarium and some of my fish have the latin name of Uru, that's where I got the idea for the name.- I am not sure, but certainly the planet of Uru won't blow up, but might get hit or absorbed by the Meteor Opall though.

Let's have a look at the Dam and the water system for today and we will be back with some other subjects before the end of the week.

Here is a region view of the Dam area....before and after, and we can see, that a lot of ground was moved to build this Giant Electrical Producer.

 

 

Below on the right is what the dam will look like , once finished, but still some construction is active to reach that point.

 

Almost all of the buidings needed to produce the electricity, including the underground turbines, have been finished and are ready to start production in a couple of months. Also the water pumps,water storages and water filtering facilities are close to wrap it up and start shipping Water to all the Cities.

A final look at the the whole system from the birdseye view.The demolition of the temporary housing has already begun and the area is up for sale as residential lots.Some new Settlers have already arrived and who knows, maybe it could become a City in the futur.

Here Hydro lines are being constructed to Axis,Tenzel Outlet and then to Gloryville and the others.

This is a picture of the piping that will fournish the Cities with water, here getting ready to cross the river underground.

Once the underground piping is all layed, it will be hardly impossible to know where it actually was. Of course, it'll take some years for the vegetation to grow back. Pipes and other materials used for this construction are made of Fullon Fibers (found only on Genesis), which have a lifetime of over a thousand years and are flexible enough to withstand the strongest earthquakes.

Just to give some credit here, I would like to mention that a lot of these pictures and lotmakings would be impossible without the contribution of the many LOTters,PROPpers and BATters from Simtropolis.

Just to mention a few  here: Peg, who gave me the idea of the construction lots and the leveler, Lord_Quillian2, who made the Best Prop ever, the Crane Tower (Just luv that thing!!),Gizmo for his effects and props and couchpotato also for the props.

Plus sooooo many more and also you, who gave me the inspiring comments and encouragments.

The dam ain't finished yet and it will be too dangerous to let it fill. Also still some leveling to do where the water will be,so the *reservoir* will hold more water.

Wait and see, and I am sure once all the valves are closed, it won't be long for the waterlevel to rise.

We will keep an eye on this!

What can I say? Beautiful region, the attention to each and every detail goes a long way. May I ask, are the lots used for building the dam your creations, and, if so, how long did it take to create them? I really want to have a crack at the lot editor and BAT, as well as post a CJ, but I haven't time, patience or ability for the former and I don't think my cities/regions would be interesting or good enough for the latter. (I'm an optomist, really).
