Welcome to the downtown square, this is the heart of the city. This square is located in the middle of the downtown shopping area. This is an momumental square with fountain. Every year the king comes to this square and honour those that fight and die in the national wars. The big cathedral has been the quest of many important marriages of kings, queens, prime ministers and celebrities. Also the people come here every day for the big daily market. As you can see there are also nice terraces to get and get a nice cool drink and relax from a busy day shopping in all the many shops in Burgerwaard downtown. Also the City Hall is located here as you can see opposite from the terraces. From this square it is just a 5 min walk to Burgerwaard Central Station.

Burgerwaard%20centrumwijk%20Delfshaven.p

Take a look at this impressive neighbourhood. Delfshaven. It is the old downtown houses south of the downtown square. Here you will find old style Dutch houses. This district is especially pleased by its old style houses and the canals that run between. All the wealthy, rich and famous people have an house here but also many lawyers offices are located here. Please be sure to buy a map ore use you're navigation system when you go here, because all the streets looks te same is very easy to get lost!

The stadium is an Dutch landmark. In real life it is the home stadium of Hollands biggest football club Feyenoord in my hometown Rotterdam. If you want the stadium that is made by me and Kazu in your own city?

it is on the STEX  Click here for the stex item

The Pearls of the South

Burgerwaard%20woontorens%20zuid.png.jpg

Burgerwaard%20woontorens%20zuid%20nacht.

The pearls of the south. On the South side of the city these 5 beautifull expensive residential towers are located next to the waterside. If you want, take a look for yourself at one of the many beautifull apartments. You gonna love them!

Burgerwaard%20centrumwijk%20Oost.png.jpg

There isnt all rich and wealthy people in Burgerwaard. Also medium and low wealthy people are living in the city. On this picture you see low wealth appartments located east of the city in Oostwijk.

Update 1

Burgerwaard%20Bloemenbuurt.jpg

Here you see Bloemenbuurt (flower neighbourhood) all the streets are named to a flower. Its a medium and low wealth area with medium and big Dutch flat buildings. Placed in Dutch style (row's). Also the el rail station Tulpenlaan (Tulip lane) is located here. The city has decided to build a large hospital to the other side of the el rail station, when the construction is completed you will see it on the following update's.

Burgerwaard%20oranjebuurt,zuidwijk.jpg

Here you see the border from Oranjebuurt (orange neighbourhood) and Zuidwijk (south neighbourhood) Oranjebuurt is used in oure country for neighbourhoods with streets named to the royal family of The Netherlands like Prinses Irene Straat (Princes Irene Street) On the picture you see the light rail station Ireneplaats (Irene place). Also a local police and fire station are located here as well one of the many elementary schools of Burgerwaard. Also you will find here the well known Dutch grocery store Albert Heijn.

Update 2

Burgerwaard%20tuindorp%20eiland.jpg

Burgerwaard%20tuindorp%20eiland2.jpg

Here you see Tuindorp Eiland (Garden village island) Before Burgerwaard was a big city this was a little village in the woods.

Tuindorp%20in%20bos.jpg

As you can see on the 2 upper pictures the big residential buildings of Burgerwaard comes closer and closer. So after big protests from the inhabitants of Tuindorp the city authority decided to make from the village and island so it can holds its own identity. The school and small vegetable gardens are demolished and replaced for playgrounds. In the upper neighbourhood Bloemenbuurt is a big elementary school as you can see next to the skate track.

Update 3

BMCZ  Burgerwaard Medisch Centrum Zuid

Burgerwaard%20ziekenhuis2.jpg

Burgerwaard%20ziekenhuis3.jpg

Burgerwaard Medical Centre South. What you can read in the earlier update, the city authority has given its permission to build an hospital in Bloemenbuurt (flower neighbourhood)  next to el-rail station Tulpenlaan (Tulip lane) After a long construction time the hospital is operating 6 months now. It covers the entire south side of the city and also the nearby village Standaardbuiten. This large modern hospital can take care of 8000 patients. The other buildings on the picture are part of an medium office park, the large building with the tower is the city tax office. The land East of the hospital is reserved for building apartments and houses and a Lidl supermarket, and when that is finished there is going to build an main avenue road to the nearby highway.

Update 4  - Can be found on page 2

Looks real nice. Especially the stadium picture. Very well designed, and really dutch (with a nearby trainstation and surrounding practice grounds). Makes me think of the Amsterdam Arena, except this is "De Kuip" of course.

Goed gedaan!

I've been to De Kuip a few times, but did not notice that it was an exact copy of the place. Well done!

@Korot haha, i know De Kuip has a better ambience than the Arena. Great stadium.

Gizmocity, keep up the good work!

Nice work Gizmo! Definitely catches the essence of the Dutch urban building style.

'Boerendrecht' sounds oddly familiar though;-) I wonder whether IKEA is going to take up some space along the motorway there.

"with a little Dutch flavour"... that's an understatement 4.gif. Great CJ though, I especially like all the little details you've put in there. And I love your logos and signs, especially the FC Burgerwaard one. I can see the Feyenoord influences.

TheChamp:  Boerendrecht is based on what you already know, Barendrecht. And of course in real life there is a big Ikea store there lol. But Ikea has decided to build there warehouse in Burgerwaard City.

    Schulmanator and BlondeTwiggy: Thanks

PhilsCafe: Youre are right, the FC Burgerwaard logo has the same colours and lay out of the Feyenoord logo. But as you know? ore read in the text. The whole stadium is an landmark and home stadium of Feyenoord.

petriknl: Lol that's true only in Lombardijen there is an railway station. this is an el rail station. What you don't see on the picture but you will see in the following update. The hospital is going to be between the el rail station Tulpenlaan and the water.

Nice cj , I really like the part with the sport complex and the station.

Also, in  your last there a street crossing with a 2 traffic lights, right by the Light rail station.

Where did you get those lights from? Did you make them?

If so you have to release them!
