Avenue Turning Lanes

I've installed the NAM and any other road update provided to us. I was browsing around and saw a picture (but not the download) of an avenue that had turning lanes in the middle instead of medians. I'm not referring to the left turn lane that is built at an intersection of two avenues.

I was wondering if anyone knew where to find this! I've looked everywhere, and it must be in existence or in use by someone because I've seen it in pictures before. If I could have these turning lanes then my sims could get to the adjacent side much easier.

The Avenues with turning lanes instead of a median are part of a new NAM project; the Network Widening Mod. Although there is no release date set for it yet you can read a lot more about it on the SC4 Devotion forums, as the NAM team is much more active there.

the turning lanes referred to are simply a texture replacement mod...it should be somewhere here on the stex. the turn lanes in the mod are not functional, they are merely eyecandy...but as combot pointed out, there is a project in the works over at sc4devotion that is working on functional turning lanes....check it out...

IIRC, they are functional, and they aren't really avenues (2 roads side by side or something, don't remember for sure), but yeah, they're not released yet.

It's part of the NAM. I believe they are more eye candy. Cars will use the lane (like they do with road turning lanes), although it has no effect on traffic. But hey, more realism!

Let me see if I can help you guys out...

Avenue turning lanes ARE included in the NAM, and will appear and function when you draw a 4 way avenue/avenue intersection.  The same thing goes for turning lanes.

-The turning lanes are an optional plugin included in the NAM, and you must select it during installation.  If you have avenue/road intersections like this before you installed the NAM, you must redraw the intersection to get them to appear.

If you're implying about a centre turn lane that replaces the median of the avenue for its entire length, that would be the TLA-5 (turning lane avenue), which is still in development.  The TLA-5 is part of the NWM (network widening mod) project which also includes various other widened networks.  Cars WILL use the centre turn lane, as the TLA-5 is pathed differently than an avenue.

the nam team is working on a mod called the nwm (network widening mod"but it isn't out yet.)

Any info on the NWM? or other sources of avenues with "suicide lanes"
