The little mass roundabouts look great, but yes. i guess they are not realistic, or at least it'll be a pain to drive through them 4.gif

i made this a long time ago. it's just a concept i didn't want to forget 4.gif

even though this roundabout is a complete nightmare from a transit-planning POV, it does have some sort of a nice look to it.

Here is one of Capital District's busyiest intersections:

hwy322exit1.jpg

Description:

Loop 20(Going N-S) intersects with Hwy 691 E-W, which is one of the buisest intercections in the country. The 691-E to loop 20 S and Loop 20 S to 691 W are both seperate bridges and join back on the other side of the river. unfortunatly, because of all the traffic, about 5 traffic accidents have occured since it was opened.

wow, that looks good! I've tried doing something similar but I'm not sure how you got the vertical drop between the one way roads and the avenue. Is it because you are using the parking lots? I had to leave a one tile gap between the avenue and the OWR, meaning that the OWR joined the roundabout parallel to the other avenue.

Also, do you know where you got the walls from? They look really good 1.gif

Nice one, ImvhOzzi! It's quite original, and worth making one of my own.

@Riiga: Your signs are great for making nordic cities, perhaps you'll make some more?2.gif

I've made a tribute to your work, some credits goes to mrtnrln aswell, because you did the EuroNWM&TULEP Texture Mod together. Enjoy!

Well, I have some points of critic about your roundabout, Nathan:

- It's not actually round, more like a square. Adding diagonal OWRs makes it look more round.

- Why does the OWR make a full intersection with both avenues? That doesn't make sense. Not only would it mean that there are two stoplight guarded intersections at each avenue, but also a at-grade intersection would have a better traffic flow than this. I don't think you really understood the concept of a roundabout. What you can do to make this intersection better is a) remove the OWR from one of the avenue medians to convert it into a diamond interchange or b) remove the avenues inside the roundabout.

- The slope of that avenue bridge is awfull. Get a slope mod, please!

Best,

Maarten

A squareabout 9.gif

It looks OK, but as Maarten pointed it has some really bad problems. Also using a slope mod or the transitions that come with NAM would greatly make it look better.
