HI guys,

I don't know if I'm on the right Forum, but I need a little help from my friends!

One of these days I was gazing at my plugin folder I realized that I know nothing about the NAM simulation options and Why I've picked simulator E (perfect pathfinding) when I updated the NAM version.

My question is: What would be the right choice for the novice user when you install the NAM?

Simulator A,B,C,D,E.

There are so many options that I couldn't be sure of what to choose.

Note that I've already play Simcity for a while, and already took a look at the readme on NAMs instalation.

I mean, I want to create HUGE cities, and I've heard that perfect pathfinding is the right option. But is it true?

Does somebody have a GUIDE for instalations ans simulation purpose?

(sorry for the very bad english)

Cheers,

I've written up a NAM FAQ which can be found here, that will answer all of your questions.

By and large, I'd recommend using the A and B Plugins.  They're the most recently designed ones, and they will be necessary for some future transit mods (like the NWM and the next RHW version) to function properly.

Hope that helps!

And just to let know, four hours is a bit short of a time to be bumping a thread . . . 2.gif

Tarkus, thank you so much for the reply. Also, I apologize for my selfishness and hurry on bumping this one. (I was going to reinstall my SC4 on this weekend and was hoping to get the anwser before doing so).

I've read that NAM FAQ that just aswered I all needed! And seems to me that the PERFECT PATHFINDING worked on the early NAM version but now I should choose simulation A for a better traffic engine.

But I have another question: should a just reinstall the NAM with the SIMULATION A option overpassing the old installation? And also, does anyone know if I'm going to have any kind of conflict with the Cogeo's RTMTV3? (because i remember have choosen something like 2x capacity NAM simulation when I first installed it)

    Thanks already again.

To be safe, you should delete everything from the previous installation and reinstall with the new settings. Some files might over-write, but others won't if you choose different settings. As for Cogeo's RTMT, I don't remember if more than just the capacity is affected, but you should probably reinstall it with current settings also. Might save issues later. Hope this helps...
