Need Help Getting Lights To Work (on a mac)

I am a mac owner and need help getting the building lights to turn on. Can anyone help me to find an update that will make this work.

I don't think the nightlights work on a Mac, but to be sure I am moving this to the Mac forum

I have the same problem as you do. I dont think there is a way yet to get nightlights to work but if anyone has one please send a link so we can download it. ^^

There is no official patch. But if you have windows on something like bootcamp, you can load the building in it and change some information so that the lights show up on macs. Im not to sure how it is done though...

I should have said I don't think the nightlights work with buildings made with SC BAT, again I am not sure, not being a Mac user.

OK, I would suggest to just run simcity on the windows side of your computer, but if you really want to... Send bwatterud (I know he does these, but zelgadis might be able to help you too.) a PM, or wait for a reply, on how to do it.

But you need to change ever building if you want night lights on each one. Very time consuming. But good luck if you get started.

EDIT: Just to make sure, you are talking about BATted custom buildings, right?  Because if you aren't getting nightlights in the default buildings, that's another issue entirely.

I stopped doing the conversions, because it was really time consuming (the process involves going through the model file and manually changing a bunch of ID's. Because of the nature of SC4Model files, larger buildings take longer to convert, and unfortunately, many buildings with spectacular nightlighting effects are skyscrapers), and I don't play in night mode very much.

If you wanted to pick up where I left off, this thread has the details of the process. I did 4 buildings that were released publicly (I did one more, but it probably won't be released, because of permissions issues).

i wonder why EA does not release mac updates for simcity 4 its such a pitty not being able to see the evening lights on a great looking city

Because EA never wanted to realease SC4 on a MAC I guess the just stopped caring about us.
