So, yeah. That Lukoil station's at $2.43 now.

Allow me to do the reverse of what some others are doing and say that that's 43p/L or €0.50/L.

While I'm at it, never hurts to remind folks from across the pond that of you're going to convert liters to gallons for our convenience, the factor to divide by is 3.785. Our gallon (US gallon) is a bit smaller than yours (Imperial gallon).

I cannot believe how much the gas prices have been dropping! 6.gif I filled my tank this morning for $1.74/gallon. I live in Central Minnesota. This is so great, I hope they continue to keep going down!

Poking around Yonkers yesterday (don't ask why), me and my father found $2.29 a gallon. Shell station at Yonkers Av and Kimball Av.

Also, oil is officially below $50 a barrel.

Now under $2 here in Central California.

I don't think prices will drop all the way down that low, but I sure hope it does. 4.gif

San Diego, California: always price gouged.

Average: $2.20/gal. ($2.45/gal diesel)

I have seen stations selling fuel for $1.75 (approx 0.349 Euros per Liter), so I don't know why others proceed to rip people off. Fortunately, some of the cheapest gas in San Diego ($1.80/gal) is right down the street from my house, so I'm lucky. It was $5.10 here during the summer at some places.

It's at $1.65 in numerous places around me, and E85 in this area, which is government subsidized, is at $1.11 in the four places I passed today that sell it.

I paid $1.55 in Dupage County, IL, but Cook County (Chicago) is still at or about $2, due to a confiscatory tax burden. 3 weeks ago I passed through Cheyenne, WY and I heard they are now down around $1.30. The downside is, that's for 85 octane, which is intended for farm implements and may damage newer vehicles.

If you have knock sensors, the engine computer will retard spark timing and it would just run less than ideally, with decreased fuel economy. My Chevy van has had the timing advanced 10 degrees for increased power but lacks a knock sensor, so 85 octane under heavy load would make it really suffer, to the point of pistons melting if pushed too far (say, fully loaded on a steep incline).

A$0.919/L (91.9 c Australian/L)

=US$2.33/Gallon. (I think...)

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.
