Strange Bug?

Hello,

I've just installed Simcity 4 Deluxe.  On the first try, I added in a few mods (NAT, Industry quad, Opera house fix, Working landmarks, and col-de-sac addon) from this site. 

I began having this problem:

I began uninstalling mods until I had none, every time starting a new city. 

Now, I've uninstalled SC4, and deleted all folders, reinstalled, and repatched from the official site.  I currently have no mods what-so-ever, and I'm having the above problem.

Help please?

I believe you need a connection to another city. Just drag the road tool to the border of the grass and you'll be prompted to make a connection to the other city.

I sometimes get this problem when starting off a city. I think it might have something to do with the NAM or some conflicting mods, but there is an easy way to get around it. Quickly zone a small area of industrial and commercial close to your residential area. You'll see the industrial start to develop straight away, once about a month passes in the game you'll notice that the zots disappear and the residential zone starts to grow. You can then bulldoze the commercial and industrial and as long as you have enough jobs in your region, your residential will continue to grow. It's almost like you have to kick-start your city with jobs sometimes.

Indeed, you residential lots have "no connection", but where should they connnect to?

Maybe add some industrial or commercial zones, or make a neighbor connection.
