The Shalman Commonwealth [COFR]

Welcome to my first (real) City Journal: the Shalman Empire!

 

The Shalman Empire is located on a planet called Andromeda. Andromeda is about two times smaller than earth. The Shalman Empire takes up 45% of the entire surface of Andromeda and has a population of 140,000,000. The government of the Empire is Constitutional Monarchy under the reign of a Prime Minister and an Emperor, who belongs to the Otonlich dynasty. The capital of the Shalman Empire is Ylmeria, with a population of 3,000,000 and it's currency is the Lirretta.

The Shalman Empire is currently the President of the Confederacy of Free Regions. It is also bidding for the December 2008 Simlympic Games. Generally, the Empire is a very active nation in the Simworld!

Looks like you have put a lot of imagination into that map of that world. Please to make it easier to read find something like the free software IrfanView to save it a better JPG that isn't grainy.

I like the city. It's too bad there aren't any actual airships beside the blimp in the game...but that's what writing is for a cj, right? I like it, I can get a feel for what a place it is supposed to be like.

The idea for a wiki is excellent, btw. Spent some time reading it, good idea.

The Ministry of Culture Building, in Aurorium, the Government District of Ylmeria. Aurorium (from the latin word for Gold and the Latin ending -um, which expresses "place") is the oldest knows district of Ylmeria, and dates back to the Pre-Cataclismic Era.

The Imperial Archives. The building was built sometime between 460 and 470, as we dont have exact data about when it was finished. It is estimated that there are at least 25 million files stored in the Archives.

The Imperial Mall, famous for its shops. Its the most expensive an well-known store in all Ylmeria. (something like Lafayette in Paris)

Imperial Airship Lines commercial, with the motto in Greek: "We take you everywhere!" (lit: "we travel you everywhere"). How do you like the new liveries, in comparison with the old ones? AND we have a new logo!!

Shalman Government to build New Imperial Cosmodrom in Ylmeria

With the evolution of large® Airships there emerged a need for bigger Cosmodroms, or else, Airship Ports. Thus the Imperium was forced to create a huge Cosmodrom Complex in the suburbs of the capital, Ylmeria. Some pictures of the Complex, which is not yet finished:

The West terminal. Constructions here began a couple of months ago, and there is still much that needs to be done.

Almost all supplies for the West Terminal are gathered here.

With the up-comming war between the Empire and the Hiigaran Confederacy, there is a grave need of fortification, as the Airship Port is an obvious target, shall the war (officially) begin.

Breaking News: Empire Declares War on Hiigaran!

Early today, the Imperium signed the Declaraton of War Against the Hiigaran Confederacy. The war was declared after the Hiigaran Confederacy confirmed that they support the rebellion in the Autonomous City of Karyan, a part of the Empire. The Hiigaran Confederacy had supplied the City of Karyan with bombs which were used in the Bombing of the Ministry of Defense, a couple of weeks ago.
