SC4 Crashes to Desktop

I am using sc4 deluxe. I go into my region's only city and it begins to load, the crashes to the desktop. I renamed my plugins folder and made a new empty one, but it still crashes. Here is the exception report: Exception time: 06/28/2008, at 11:49:39.

The first thing is you haven't installed the game update patch. The second, if you have used a conflicting plugin, just removing it doesn't always remove it from the city file. Try a new city, in a new region, without the plugins, then go from there, adding the plugins a few at a time. Or follow the procedure in the "Howto: Identify Faulty Plugins" stickie.

    It was a conflict between the new NAM and Marrast's ancient underpasses. Thanks for the help everyone.

    I'm having the same problem, every time I try to run the patch:

    patchsku1top1

    or

    patch-sku1-to-p2

    I get this message:

    Old file Not Found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match.

    Does any one know what this means, and how to fix the crashing to desktop prob?

    I don't know why that message comes up, but it doesn't seem to mean anything. Check the version of the "SimCity 4.exe" file, if it is 1.1.638.0 then the patch was successful.

    There are several reason why you might experience a crash to desktop, more details would be needed to help you with that.

    Hmm, I've even increased the pagefile system for the hard drive, removed all plugins and still the same thing.
