I stumbled upon a group TP'ing a house and out of curiosity sent the police to the scene and was treated to an arrest sequence. Are there any other crimes to be witnessed that u can dispatch the long arm of the sim law to? (not 2 include riots) The data window shows crimes in progress but I have yet to see a car jacking or tagging in the act.

Wow, you actually manage to see the crime? I've only ever seen an assault twice, both at a ferry terminal.

I saw a get away van with robbers running toward the van, only to get stopped by police officers.

Neat I'll be looking for the assaults and robbers....... when i maxed out the # of simulations in the game the riot went from 1 sim to a host of them overturning cars, quite a roudy group

If you observe the city jail for a while, you will see what appears to be a chain gang working on the road with an officer on horseback beside them. Eventually an inmate will try to make a run for it, cops on foot will chase, and sirens will blare.

Once when I let the rioter group riot for a while. After a while, the group turns into a HUGE mob, and it split apart into smaller groups. At the end, the rioters demolished much of my city.

how do you get a riot? i have been playing it sence it came out and i have had no riots! what do you do to get that?

AS far as I know, you can only get riots if you have a negative (red) Mayor Rating. I did that on purpose in a city once and ended up with full red bars negative Mayor Rating. Problem was low Mayor Rating went hand in hand with low desirability and even the R$ Sims left. I got riots in the city all the time though!

there is a mod named "lots of riots" out there, on the STEX i believe, it works in neighborhoods that are not covered by police coverage, mayor rating seems to matter not. I get 2 or 3 per hour and if left unchecked thay are quite rowdy overturning cars and setting fires. Letting one get out of control is a good challenge to your dispatch skills.

Well I have seen the jail break, stickup, pie throwing, fighting, assault, and flashing but the problem is that the simulation of the crime lasts less than a second. I have messed around with the dat files trying to loop the sim but not getting anywhere

Having a handful or more of SimGoober's Adult lots (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1092) next to a residential area will lower the mayor rating there and may result in riots

I've let the police, fire, health and education strike for a while and that caused utter distruction. There were tons of riots and they caused fires...
