On Tuesday, May 27th, 2008, I got up at 6 AM. By 8 AM I was in the office of the engineering bureau of the city of Stamford (CT). I stayed there until 4 PM. I then did the same thing on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

In other words, I have a job. Whee! Check out my lanyard. And yes, I know my room is a mess...

What this means, however, is that my presence here during the week for the remainder of the summer may be rather limited. It's why I didn't manage to drop in here on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday, for one thing. However, fear not- this is just a summer intern position. Come the end of August I'll be back at school and back in full swing with too much time on my hands.

Well, it would have been scary a few years ago.  Not anymore.

Yes, who knew that Constanza would work for the council, and in the engineering department? Watch out, rest rooms!

Yes, but I'm not leaving or returning. Just letting you guys know about this and saying "you won't see me quite as often as you have in the past"

Relax, I haven't broken anything. Nor do I intend to. 34.gif The traffic control guy does like my AutoCAD work, though. Oh, and get this. You know what I'll be probably be doing tomorrow? Driving around town with one of the other interns taking pictures of traffic lights. Because the department needs visual documentation of the condition they're in so they know which ones are in the most need of work. Fun. 9.gif

I need you, here, now! The old ones are dreadful in the sunlight! Also, you could tell the region about those converted pedestrian traffic lights; though if you got them in Stamford, I'm sure the people over there will be thankful for some button removal...

I am not afraid.  I believe Duke can take a picture of a traffic light.  I also believe he can use AutoCAD effectively.

I think it would be scary if Duke went into certain jobs (like marriage counselor or elementary school teacher) but I think he'll make a fine engineer (or other form of techno-geek).   and, no, I don't mean that as an insult; I'm a techno-geek myself.

It's all based on the Myers-Briggs test.   We all have a Myers-Briggs personality type.  Each type is good for certain careers and bad for others.  Duke happens to be a type that is good for engineering.

Actually, it's not. It's Costanzo. They screwed it up. People are always screwing it up.

Close enough. You still win. Minus points for hating the best sitcom of the 90s, though.

You do realize that I only hate it because if "George Costanza" wasn't a name everyone was familiar with a major source of annoyance in my life wouldn't be there, right? The show itself is... okay, it's mediocre. But if my last name were something else I wouldn't hate it, I'd shrug my shoulders and roll my eyes at it.
