Well, I wasn't happy with the last one, so I decided to reboot it. I am trying to go for as much realism as possible this time. Make sure to give me a suggestion or something if you think there's something I can do to the city you'd like. This CJ should take place around the 2010-2020 timeline.

Lorenzo County was formed in 2010 in Texas in the area between Johnson Lake and Sabine Pass. A major hurricane heavily eroded the area, so that's why it looks different from the area surrounding 29.720185,-93.945808 right now. It is regarded as one of the most technologically advanced areas in the United States.

Anyway, this is the region. It's a slightly edited version of a map from the STEX because I was too lazy to make my own. 24.gif

The city we shall begin with is Famoso, the main hub in the area.

Here you can observe the old Dulce Hotel. It's 4/5 stars and acts as a place for visitors new to the area to stay. It's also conveniently placed next to the theme park. To the left of it is a large toll booth. The two roads pass under it via those tunnels. Off the map, the highway goes to a planned toll bridge (I haven't started on that tile yet).

Lighthouse island. DAMN IT I FORGOT TO TURN THE FREAKIN GRID OFF...

Here's the theme park named Shoreline Shoretime.

The highway passes under the hospital. Also, the majority of the hospital's parking is underground.

f_l8m_3d3a764.jpg

The "Old Downtown" area. The old square there has been shrunken into a circle but it still remains in a way. The really tall building contains the local news and radio stations. It was modelled after Russian architecture.

The best hotel you can stay at in the downtown area. Only recommended if you have a lot of money...

The twin administration buildings. They house - of course - a majority of the city's administration. In case of emergency they have underground evacuation routes. The top floor of building B (The one on the right) contains the terminal that is used to monitor and control the city's mainframe. Deep below the building (deep below the parking garage) is the city's actual main computer. It controls things such as the transportation network, utilities (power, water, etc.), security, as well as many other things. It isn't a single point of failure though because the system makes exact data images of itself and sends them to another location in the city. So if it gets destroyed or goes down, the other central station boots up and takes the saddle.

Security around the buildings don't look that tight, but looks are deceiving. One example would be the fact that both heav

It looks great so far! The buildings are well chosen, and I can't wait until all the open space is filled in.

Explodingsims - Thanks, it took a bit for me to figure out how I should design the waterfront.

Schulmanator - Like a phoenix... thanks!

ac94 - Thanks. I think it's the Biloxi map. Although I did some editing to it.

    fern244 - Many thank-yous.

    Cobra_nVidia - Thanks much.

    Smarty218 - Thank you.

    Yay, an update.

The high road, or the low road? To the right of it, you can also see a small watershed.

The opera house. It goes two stories below the ground as well. The main auditorium is 2 stories tall, while three smaller ones are below it. It acts as a performing arts center (it's not just for singing, viking hat-bearing women.)

    f_03m_63c3dbb.jpg

I constructed the bridge. It was more difficult than it should have been though, the darn slope mod I have installed kept messing me up.

Zoning residential. I imagine 3/5 of this tile will be suburbs and the other 2/5 be commercial. I plan for the tile to the west of it to be like, 9/10 residential or something.

More commercial buildings? Are you kidding me?

The giant nuclear power plant. There were a lot of concerns at first, although if properly managed, there's little to no chance of another Chernobyl-like incident.

The main water pumps that take water in from the Gulf. Of course, they have to do some desalination work.

Because all of the basic resources are now in place (power, water, etc. etc.) I imagine by the next update you'll get t

Sorry for the lack of an update. I've just been tangled in the last chapters of my schoolwork, as well as other things. Anyway, here's a teaser. I promise an update by at least Sunday or your time back*.

*Only if I can successfully create a flux capacitor by Sunday.

    f_lorenzo2m_f96e45f.png

anarchy0029 - Thanks. I'm trying to make it in between realistic and somewhat futuristic.

jacqulina - Thanks. The transport system has been a HUGE pain to make.

GMT - Thanks. Hopefully not too much longer...
