Hello and welcome to my City Journal. I have been playing SC4 since it’s release and have yet to become bored with it. Thanks to all the BATer’s, your talent’s and imagination’s are amazing. A special thanks to Vanderaap and Porkissimo, anything they have ever created can be found in Eidledam. Also thanks to Fledder200 for the inspirational C.J. Liaane.

My C.J. is based in the Netherlands but is completely fictional so I use buildings and landmarks from other countries. Enjoy and I hope I could repay some of the inspiration that I have taken from everyone on Simtropolis.

Eidledam is a municipality in the North Holland Province of the Netherlands.  Founded in 1334, it saw it's greatest progression during the Dutch Golden Age of the 17th century which resulted in the architecture and culture that we have today.  Late Gothic elements combined with Renaissance motives, given to us by the famous Dutch Architect Lieven De Vanderaap, still prevail.  Alongside French classicism and an occasional new modern structure, the canals, fountains, statues and transportation networks make Eidledam the "Pride of the North Holland Provence".

This is really good. It's great to have a cj that shows a Dutch city...

Okay, before hitting the reply button I took another look. It's not really good, it's amazing.

Wonderful start, Eidledam looks really nice. Good use of Vanderaap's buildings and the canals, especially where they run along the road. Awesome editing on the lights, they are very beautiful! Keep it up, I can't wait for more!

Interesting start. That big white gate is an unusual choice, where did it come from?

It is obvious that you have put a lot of work into your city, and your opening update for your CJ. Your work is beautiful - looks very realistic. In particular I like the different components of your transit system - the elevated rail like the stadtbahn, and the connection to ground level. Keep it up!

Oh, yeah, I love the name, too.

I have to admit, this looks like one of the better 'Dutch' cities! Great job with that..

If you don't mind a little bit of criticism, I can really recommend you to download a tram skin off Simtropolis.. There are plenty of skins on the STEX and most of them really look much better than the old Maxis skin.. Personally, I used this one: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=18577, but like I said; there are plenty of good ones!

Again, it looks great and I can't wait to see more!

~NEEDGAMES~  Thanks for my first comment and I'm glad you like it!

~KYLE~  Vanderaap's buildings were my inspiration for this CJ...the canals and transit networks are my most favorite thing to work on, hope you like the updates!

~SCHULMANATOR~  You have an awesome imagination...thanks for everything you do to make Simtropolis such a hit!

~CONNORC24~  I'm glad you like it and I hope you are as equally excited with the updates...I look forward to interacting with you in the Adrian Union!

~SMARTY218~ Thanks for keeping posted...from one Star Wars fan to another!

~EDMONTON_STINKS~  It took a lot of downloading off the STEX and with some bulldozing and making buildings historical most of my city has variety, at least the parts that I take screenshots of!  Thanks

~JANYPE~  I downloaded the white arches off the STEX (Guadalajara Arches)...I loved the night lighting and colorful flowers so I made one avenue in the city with them every other block or so.  More Mexican than Dutch but still nice to look at!

~JACQULINA~   Thanks for the comment...Return to Paradise Falls is a terraforming masterpiece!

~BENEDICT~  Port Sin and Ellis Valley are some of Simtropolis' most origional, I love your graphics.  Transit systems are my favorite to work on so I'm glad you can appreiate them.  Thanks

~JARNOMIEDEMA~  I can't agree more..I'm sort of a 'No Maxis' snob so I use as much off the STEX, SC4D, PLEX, etc. as possible.  Pics with the Maxis tram are older ones...the Nottingham skin you suggested is one of my favorites too along with the Barcelona tram.

~SIMTASTICO~  Thanks...the arches make for great screenshots!

    Update Coming Soon.....

It's no surprise that they are your favorite things to build, because they look so good! So does your comment banner. One thing that caught my eye was how every single light shines brightly. That detail is present because of the great crisp quality in your pictures. I can't wait for the coming update!

    Great CJ you got here!

Unfortunately I only know Amsterdam and Masstricht of your country, but from what I know you really hit that atmosphere!

The only think I don't like is that S-curve at the GLR Crossing in pic 1.5 - I would have resolved that into two Ts ...

Take care (And don't forget to make backups!

Beautiful update! Once again, it's those lights that make these updates shine even more. But even if you didn't edit the lights, I think these pictures would still be of the same caliber. I like the locations where you've placed some of the larger buildings. The hospital and that big red structure in the last shot are prime examples of what I'm talking about. Those diagonal avenues make for some very realistic intersections and layouts. Also, that sunken GLR network looks nice!
