Like u-drive it, in 3D, wouldn't that be something? Well, its not that important, maybe for an expansion if it takes to much work.

Yes!. Except, have the simulation paused so that the CPU power will focus on the details without your computer being screwed up. Or let that be an option that you can check.(Winks)

Ah, like I used to always drive in my cities (and blow up stuff) in streets of simcity 9.gif That would own, because UDI is one of the best parts of SC4 IMHO and that would make me want it even more!

It's not that simple to just make a mod to do that. You'd have to model every single thing in 3D as well as program the whole thing and even more stuff.

To be honest it really doesn't interest me. I remember with Rollercoaster Tycoon how badly I and so so many others wanted to be able to ride the rides and walk through thier parks, and when RCT3 came out, it seemed to be more of a novelty then anything else. Sure it was cool to ride one of my coasters once or twice but that was about it. I remember people asking over at the Atari forums about this, and most people that responded seemed to think it was more of a novelty too and hardly used it more than once or twice. Seems that it was a big waste of development time. But to each his own, if MC wants to put something like that in the game then it's their perogative, but for me I kid of look at it like I do the SC4 U drive it. It's there but it's not something that I have ever enjoyed and when I have tried it I found it to be more of an annoyance then anything else, and always felt like it was a slap on product, meaning they added it for the sake of adding it but never really thought it all the way through.

But if MC can take the original U drive it idea and throw their own twists and curves on it to make it something different, and enjoyable then great, let's see how talented MC really is in this regard.

Honetly, I think that it's cool, but I can go without it. So I would like to have it in the game, but I'm alright without it.

I agree with City Planner: U-Drive-it never really interested me. I would encourage you (Monte Cristo) to concentrate on making a great-playing city-design/city-management game first; and then a great-looking game second. If, having done that, you find you've still got capacity to introduce a workable UDI-type element before deadline, then great - but I would focus on this last.

I'd be really dissaapointed if they didn't impliment something like this. I don't even know if I'd play SC4 anymore if it didn't have UDI. At least not as often, seriosuly.

mmm... maybe they could implement a City tour (the Camera could attach itself to a helicopter or a tourbus), but  a UDI type thing would be another game in itself. I think more people would buy the game for its key element - City building, and not its after thoughtish secondary mini-games. Thats like buying GTAIV and just playing QUB3D all the time.

That would be absolutely great. Maybe you can get off and walk around and interact with other sims. Too bad we'd (probably) all have to make a serious upgrade to get all that eye candy.

A 3D UDI would be a cool idea, however combining a complex city building game with a driving game would be a daunting task, not to mention I would imagine it would require a MASSIVE amount of computer resources. The requirements would either be too expensive, or might not even be available.

It may be an interesting idea but to be honest: do you use the U-Drive-IT In SimCity4 so often? Because now I don't use it at all9.gif IT was fun for me only for a few days of playing so I think it is not so important in the game...

I want a UDI in CitiesXL or I won't buy it, it helps you know where your roads went wrong and how to make it better, also have missions to unlock more buildings if you want to have more fun. PLEASE!!

Having thought about this i realize that it might come with its complications as far as communication simulation goes... traffic that is. It would need to interact with the players vechicle. So maybe it would be a tad too much. Definitely not a priority, but something for optimization,, to look at in the horizon...

I think they should focus their resources on the actual simulation.

    leave u-drive it to GTA.

I came from Train Simulator and Midtown Madness 2, they lacked the opposite of what the game was for so in a city building game.. build your city and drive that one day as long as wanted, no cars going away, and you can say you created it.
