I have a sudden urge to play a game

I get this ALL THE TIME. It's actually quite frustrating. In fact, after reading this, it's making me want to pull out my old copy of Civ 2 and see if the disc will work despite the scratches. IRK!!

A few days ago, I played Star Wars: Empire at War after a 4 month hiatus

from time to time (as in 3 times a week), I start up my dosbox and play settlers2, settlers1 and many other good ol abandonware dosgames.

if you think about the time, it's just amazing what they made back then. a greatlooking game with less than a CD(!) of files. great great.

other than that, I frequently visit newgrounds or other flashgame sites. always something worth spending a night on.

I love those tower defense games...

I took week off of a couple of RPG's that I was playing to scratch a Civilization itch I get every once in awhile. In Beyond The Sword I ruled the high seas as Ragnar of the Vikings using archipelago maps and got some cultural/temple victories using the arboreal setting as Pericles of Greece. Ahhhhh itch scratched!

I'm always going from one game binge to another, sooner or later I'll get onto a SC4 tangent again, or Half life, or Team Fortress, or Company of Heroes. Or one nobody ever plays, Armored Core!!! (A super detail oriented perfectionist like me cant resist it!!!)

But lately...

I feel so strange when I say I STILL regularly play a 8+ year old game like Diablo II LOD (I am not ashamed to say I am nice at it however). It kind of shocking to see the 35k+ people still playing at any given time. But even worse than that, I actually went back and played Diablo 1, vintage 1995, but it was worth it lol. Maybe, since they unveiled it a week or so back, D3 will be out before the end of the decade.But knowing Blizz, I doubt it. Anyway, I'm going to go trash some demons with my various 90+ characters.

Once I fix my old computer I'll break out RCT2 again, that will be an experience.
