Cool, real farms... those look very nice, I like the transition. And the canals are a great detail. Oh and that Clark Farms company has a wide palette of produces... they're like a one stop shop.

The Royal Mountains seem to be very popular indeed... that's how the streets to our ski resorts look like every weekend. LOL, great facts about Laughing Rock... 9.gif.

great updates there, spidey.

I especially like the canal running through the farming regions. It reminds me of pictures of Europe. Good job with this journal.

The Royal Mountains, the City of Marquette, and the farmlands are awesome looking. I'm sorry I haven't been arond much. They have truly jacked up my schedule in the real world. Can't wait til this holiday is over, so I may go back to normal on my schedule. But it is excellent work.

I am liking this! I sneaked online with someone else's computer since my internet is still down. Note to neighbor: thanks for the wireless network! lol! Anywho, turning the Pacific into HCL, what a cool idea! Now, me, I would not make a good arch villain... I would not have thought of that. I would have turned it into jelly donut filling. Sinister yet delicious.

The rox rock! But, methinks I will take the helicopter to the top... I am too old to hike that much steepness!

So, this will be my replies post (not that I'm just using it as an excuse to bump my cj, mind you2.gif).  A new update will come next week, and we'll stay a bit suburban.  I have some ideas for the south and western reaches, and hopefully I'll be able to show them off as successes before too long!

    But first...

    3109243813_42aeb530c2_o.jpg

Zelgadis:  Haha, Kobe.  That's an interesting looking city, I think, so I'll take that as a compliment!

Hester: Thank you!  It's a joy to create, as well!

PhilsCafe: Thank you!  Clark Farms is indeed a great place for all things fruit-and-vegetables.

rewright: Thank you!  I'm very pleased you like it4.gif

Gn_leugim: Thank you!  It took a bit of work to get the sloped city to look right...

suplado!: Thank you!  The small resort likes you, too.

anarchy0029:  Thank you!  The busy season is almost past.  My workload won't decrease, sadly, but that's the nature of the beast I deal with...  Thanks again!

Schulmanator: You must be a ninja just like abcvs.  Heh heh, jelly donut filling...  I think that was just too dastardly for this villain to come up with.

And to finish off the Royale Mountains, a picture of some trees.

Enjoy!  Port Matthew will resume again next year!

I liked Kobe too, so it was indeed a compliment. 4.gif Stayed in the Kobe Port Hotel, which was accessible by the crappiest monorail train I've ever seen. 3.gif Kinda made it interesting though.

Nice trees you have downloaded there. 4.gif I always think I need to varietize my trees, but I'm too lazy to do it. 3.gif

Very nice terraforming on those islands that just shoot right out of the water on the previous page. Very beautiful sights.

Yeah, so it's been a little while.  Over Christmas vacation I bought myself a brand new laptop for my Christmas present to myself (my wife said I was allowed since I passed the level 3 Japanese test).  But I also got a new Nintendo DS Lite and Chrono Trigger to play for it, which then proceeded to eat my New Year holiday alive.  I couldn't stop myself, and I still haven't finished it.  That game is just epic, and it's the first game I played all the way through and beat by myself way back when the Super Nintendo was still cutting edge tech.  But, I managed to update my region and have even put the finishing touches on a new suburb, this one just south of Arrinson.  It's a nice little place, called Jordan.  We'll get to that.

    But first...

    3109243813_42aeb530c2_o.jpg

Schulmanator: You'll have to get that checked out.  Maybe I can talk to a guy, we can hook you up with some x-ray specs.  I can't guarantee you'll see the forest, but maybe some other pleasant surprises.

PhilsCafe: Yup.  Four varieties of trees were hand-plopped over the course of hours and hours on the touchpad of my old Toshiba.

Hester: Thank you!  Virginia's a very pretty place.

anarchy0029: Thank you, same to you (if a bit late2.gif).

Petrovar Ambassador: Thank you!  Happy New Year to you, too!

Tomasneto: Thank you!  Here are a few more!

Zelgadis: Haha, great.  Must be a bit older than the monorail in Tokyo.  When I went to Kobe, we just used the regular train.  Haha, it's a total pain in the ass to plop all those trees, but I think the effect is nice.

Gn_leugim: Haha, yeah, I know.  It's a bit different from your stuff (which I just love).  I wish I had your skill with nature.

suplado!: Haha, thank you.  That was more of a placeholder than an actual update...

dj's girl: Thank you!  Happy New Year to you, too!

Archean: Thank you!  It took quite some time to build up the nerve to actually finish those.

Jerebannus XVI: Haha, thank you!  I try to make all my stuff functional (even if it doesn't function very well2.gif).

Hester: Thank you again!  Happy New Year to you, as well!

    ComputerGuy890100: Here it comes!

Schulmanator: Y'know, I'll bet if I count all the people who post here, you'd be the top guy.

Hester: Followed very closely by you!

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for!  JORDAN!

    3190802162_a43329b327_o.jpg

Jordan is on the southern border of the industrial center of Arrinson, and thus has some industrial spillover zones in the northern section.  An elongated lake is at the bottom.  Just wait till you see what the origin of that is (if I can get it to work properly).

    3190800560_62c309db0d_o.jpg

Southwestern Jordan is pretty much all light density residential and commerce.  It's a quiet area populated by mostly lower-middle class families.  Recently, a local child won a PM regionwide contest looking for the next Renaissance Man.  The prize was a state-of-the-art private school built and staffed by Titus Technologies to help the students in the local neighborhood have a better education.

    3190802060_63f9ecb938_o.jpg

Another quiet neighborhood sits across the narrow lake on the north bank.  The water is safe for swimming, but the rocky shoreline isn't exactly inviting...

    3189953811_77cb00a8af_o.jpg

Across the bridge is downtown Jordan.  Here we can see Jordan Station, Jordan Central Elementary School, and the Matrice Auditorium.  The Matrice hosts concerts and various performance exhibitions year-round, stealing some of JL Arena's thunder.

    3190801958_fcd64b96f0_o.jpg

Let's get a bit closer to Jordan Station, the main station on the Jordan-South Line.

    3190801358_b86bc68d6a_o.jpg

Near the top of the picture is Matrice Auditorium, and at the bottom is Jordan Central Elementary (built by an enterprising developer who had a hand in most of the other high-occupancy elementary schools across the region).

    3189953559_1da20a1ddc_o.jpg

To the northeast is the big two part Jordan Forest subdivision, Forest East and Forest West.  Also near  here, you can see my first real experiment with a walking area shopping street.

    3189953973_4d1e913af8_o.jpg

    There!  There it is!

    3190801228_26d33f783d_o.jpg

Right there!  THERE!  CAN YOU SEE IT??  Of course you can.  This area is the Jordan Forest Shopping Area.  Pizza places and clever boutiques abound for your shopping pleasure.  If you happen to get tired from all the walking, stop by the movie theater where you can watch any of the latest releases on giant screens using the latest in digital sound and picture to give you the highest quality movie-watching experience.

    3190800950_5f6d4bc198_o.jpg

Did you think that was the only one?  I present to you the South Shore Shopping Area, with  more high fashion (in outlet stores) and tourist trappiness than you can shake a stick at.

    3189954227_fe0748f94e_o.jpg

Closer is better, don't you agree?

    3190801458_c8d05663f7_o.jpg

And here is Jordan High School, home of the (blanks, and here's where you can make a contribution to PM: what is their mascot?  The Grapes?  The Mauraders?  Something awesome, and you can help)!  As an aside, do you know how long I waited for that stinking train to appear?  Jeez, it was like forever.  Is there a trick to getting them to pop up, or do I pretty much just have to wait?

    3189954671_78465f1441_o.jpg

    Jordan Stadium!

    3190801806_dc048c1e23_o.jpg

I finally started using these.  They look good, don't they?

    3190801690_0c8bcfd3b1_o.jpg

This was a total pain to design, but it works!

    3190802228_3b3eef6565_o.jpg

And finally, oh my god, it's past my bedtime.  Another view of Jordan, at night and from a different angle.

I hope you enjoyed today's update!  Another one is in the works!  Thank you very much for all the kind words, Happy New Year to everyone, I hope 2009 is great!  Keep the comments flowing9.gif!

Very nice town, making great use of the rails for commuters. And it seems all the space was taken advantage of, that town took up the entire tile. Very nice, I don't think i saw one spec of dirty industry.
