How I can stop this behavior?

I noted that my sims prefer to work in the neighbors cites although there are no jobs 42.gif , I even destroyed the schools, police stations and fire stations even the hospitals there 11.gif . But still the number of cars, which go out of my city, is more than the numbers of cars, which enter to my city. 6.gif

possibly by creating more jobs in their home city. Also making the jobs closer and more easily accessible through mass transit.

    The simpliest way to get your sims to stop from working in a neighbor city is to just cut off the connections to the neighbor, but then you might invite another problem.....growing your city will be a lot harder.

    btw, why would you want to stop them from going over the border anyways?

    Very quite simple friend.

    Only make ONE connection of any type to your neighbor... IE....road, train, power, etc... If you have more than one connection of any type to your neighbor....your demand cap will cap out at a lower stat. Try it....it does work. 4.gif

    As I learned from Mott, a member on another site.. if you connect several cities creating a triangle/square or circle.. they jobs go through a strange multiplier and fake demand is created. Grbage deals go crazy.

    Check out a NAM thread on SC4D for the technical stuff (it is very technical). Or just do this.

    1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 each of these are a region..

    you can make connections for 2 to it's neighbors 2.7-2.6-2.5-2.4-2.3-2.2-2.1-2-2.1-2.2-2.3-2.4-2.5-2.6 and the like.

    do not connect the verticle and horizontal cities... creating small triangular connection or any such geometrical shape...

    Ferrys mess this up since you go every where.. so it's your call... but this it about rail, roads, avenues, highways, blvds, etc.

    I have one suggestion for you. CENTRALIZE YOUR EMPLOYMENT. If most of your major jobs is only in one city, then you will have more people commuting in from other cities.

    Cut off some of the conections, or destroy the surronding cities? OR add lots of community lots! And get a higher pop.!

    Perhaps by making higher population in those cities where your people go, the people from neighbooring cities might go also in your desired city to work. I don't know, I just guess.

    i think some of you are missing the whole point of this game being based on an entire region, and not just ONE city tile. think about it realistically. the average american commutes an hour to their job.. do you know of anyone who is fortunate enough to LIVE and WORK in the same city? VERY FEW people are actually living and working in the same city.. even in NYC, only 1 million people live in manhattan, yet 7 million commute there on a daily basis from the surrounding NYC/NJ area.

    Or if you have Rush Hour you can always put a toll booth on the borders...more people will eventually stay at the main city.
