Will Wright is a Wii fan... who knew?  And Spore will be on the Wii!  Now the PC version will be the superior version, but expanding to the Wii is a good move, I think.  He praises the Nintendo console saying, "The only next gen system I've seen is the Wii..."

He also rips the 360 and PS3 saying "...the PS3 and the Xbox 360 feel like better versions of the last, but pretty much the same game with incremental improvement."

Thoughts?

Zelda... I mean Link

I love the Wii. Will Wright is absolutely right about the other two consoles. Spore on the Wii would be cool, but only if they did it properly, because even the slightest mistake could ruin it.

I own all 3, Wii, X-Box 350, and PS3. I've had the RLOD of the 360 3 times... it is currently with microsoft being "repaired". My PS3 is my glorified Blu-Ray player, and dedicated FOlding @ Home machine... I do play puzzle fighter and Mortal Kombat II on it.. as well as Heavenly Sword.. supposedly lots of games are coming out.. But the Wii has gotten more play than any of the next gen consoles... and the PS2 still gets a good shake every now and then.

Spore on the Wii... damn.. I wonder how big a difference there will be between that and the PC version...

I think wii is a revolution in gaming (I think that's what nintendo was going for when they named it, Wii = Revolution in Japanese). Thanks to it's tilt sensors and accelerometers, the Wii has both an user friendly and comrehensive interface. These two aspects combined provide a wealth of oppertunity in the field of game design. Thanks to this it has now sold more than 360 and PS3 combined. I know because I had to go from Albany NY to Chicago IL to get mine!

Obviously the PS3 and 360 have the better graphics and faster processors but the Wii is great for the controller and its pick up and play games that are made for it. I am not sure how Spore would be improved on the Wii. I think its main strength is in the quick play games.

It seems the majority here agree somewhat to Will Wright's statement? I think he's wrong when it comes to dismissing the 360 and PS3's capabilities... but the Wii made the biggest leap in innovation so Will is right about that.

Spore on the Wii is likely going to be a watered-down port of the PC version, but the controls on the Wii and even the DS feel more PC-like suggesting that it will simply feel good playing. Simply put, Will Wright's masterpieces aren't truly meant to played with dual analog controllers... but the Wii-mote might be alright.

Well, I have a PC. I'd have to crazy upgrade my system to meet the system requirements though, costing me lots of $.

But, I have a Wii. Spore would run on there without spending tons of cash to upgrade the system.

Hmm... Smart move my Will Wright. Expanding the game to the audience that doesn't have a top-of-the-line PC will really increase sales of the game. Plus, using the Wii remote would be awesome to move my creatures around rather than the standard keyboard and mouse.

I am actually considering this... Thanks for the info The_Dalai_Llama!

Well my PC works absolutely perfect... Why??? because it has never.. ever been online.. and that means some games are just not as good.. like Spore... I was wondering how I would get around that.. and the Wii option just fixed that problem for me.

I generally dislike consoles anyway because they just go out of date in a matter of months, but Spores Graphics don't exactly seem too hard for the Wii to handle, it should be fun for you wii-ites... but personally, i'd stick to PC.
