Custom Lots/Builds - Night Light bug?

I've been noticing lately that none of my custom/downloaded buildings are lit up at night - even though the actual building is suppose to. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it, or what's causing this? All default maxis buildings DO light up - it's just downloaded/custom ones.

You need to have the game update patch, SKU, installed, then you need to install the SC4update4BAT.exe. The later is the nightlight update, a link to it can be found in the stickie in the SC4 General Disscussion forum, "Get Your Maxis Files Here".

I have the exact same problem as Lerker, however, I have the update. I've got the latest SKU, and SC4updateBAT.exe.  It still hasn't worked, nomatter how many times I reinstall the updates.  As a side note, they did work once before, and all of a sudden it stopped

What is the version of the "C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\Simcity 4.exe" file?

I had a problem similar to this waaaay back when.. when I first put SC4 on this pc.. i'd guess about mid 2005.. I forgot to get the update files (well most but not those) and played for some time.. I rarely use "night" as my eyes aren't too good.. unless I just want to sit back and watch the "pretties".. I normally leave it on DAY all the time. I was fooling with some modular airport files in a sandbox trying out the tiles. I was having nightlight problems.. and had advice from 1 million diff ppl.. .. Finally I completely re-installed my SC4 from the ground up. and carefully followed the tutorial on how to install SC4 *looks it up* HERE (BTW still the best "install guide" i've found if you don't get carried away by the "add-ons" people) 

I still had conditions where the nightlights would not work sometimes. I finally decided it was an interactive problem as it would work sometime and sometime not.. (recall that I was working in a sandbox and it was changing all the time)

After discussing this with the airport ppl for some time, I just gave up on it as I really didn't care all that much .. 

Now it seems to work fine.. (I had a crash about 3 months ago and rebuilt) .. but then I don't use any of that airport stuff either.. 

Anyways.. what I guess I'm saying is that .. althougth probably 99.9% of the problems are just that ALL the needed files are not installed properly, I think there is an issue which goes deeper.. I was at one time going to track it down, but it was clear to me that I would have to have spent hours on it and at the time had neither the time nor the interest really.. other than "absolving" myself on the airport thread.. lol..

I have just posted a fix for this IF you have 1.1.613.0 version. This is the Europe version and needs SKU2 update even if you live in a SKU1 country. Hope it helps some people if not you guys who are having problems. Maxis site does not help you with different versions and matching SKU update to version. It only tells you to download depending on the country you are in. This might be to do with the age of the game and different versions such as PC Classic versions etc that have come out in the meantime.
