Zune 4, 8, 80 will be released on November 13th, 2007.

This is the second generation following the release of the red and pink Zune's and the Halo 3 Zune (which looks really cool 44.gif)

The come in 4gb, 8 gb and now an 80 gb!

The black zune on the left is the 80 gb and the smaller ones are 4 and 8. I think the 4 and the 8 is a good idea, but I would never buy them because I have 5 times are much music as that.

New features include:

  • The newest additions are smaller 4gb and 8gb players with flash memory with sport video playback and wireless functionality.
  • They are priced at $149 -4gb and $199 -8gb. ($250 for 80)

  • Currently the small Zunes come in red, pink, green, and black.
  • An updated hard drive model will have 80GB of storage and come in black at launch.
  • New Zunes are due to release around November 13th.
  • New Wi-Fi features will include wireless sync with PC. Shared songs will no longer have a 3 day limit for use, but the 3 play rule remains in effect.
  • Photos as usual have no restrictions at all when shared Zune to Zune.
  • To improve on “the social” online Zune Cards will be introduced. Each card can be personalized based on unique interests.
  • Zunecasts (podcasts) are coming to the Zune marketplace along with video content. TV shows recorded on Windows Media Center can also be synced up with the Zune devices.

Found at TechnologyMadness.com. There is a great video to show you the new features.

They have added the "swipe" which I think is brilliant and I'm hoping it won't be as difficult as the i-pod swivle thing (no offense, I cannot use that thing)

here is a picture with a three versions:

4/8 on the left, 80 in the middle and the regular 30 on the right.

Long live the Zune! 9.gif

I love how just a few years ago, when Apple was dieing and Microsoft was preparing to take over the world, all anyone wanted to do was bash Microsoft and many thought Apple's products were superior.

Now, with Apple dominating the MP3 player market, people are bashing the iPod and looking at the Zune as if it were a divine gift.

I've owned an iPod nano, and I now own an iPod Touch, but I've also spent at least a few hours using a Zune. I really do prefer iPods, the Zune was just too bulky for me, and I hated their click wheel sort of thing. I did really love the big screen, but with the iPod Touch I have a larger screen than that now anyway. This new lineup isn't really innovative at all, they just added some storage, and a version that really does remind me of the iPod nano.

At least Apple is trying to be innovative. The iPhone and iPod Touch come with far more applications than a Zune, and you can do a lot more with them. Yes, they are more expensive, and yes, you do have to use iTunes, but for all the extra features, and coolness, I'm happy to shell out a little extra cash. I paid $428 including tax for my 16gb iPod Touch, and I'm really happy with it.

The Zune seems to be behind the times. Working up to the quality of apple thingamabobs is a tall order.

I like the ipod but when I go to america next year I am seriously thinking of getting a zune just because I like to be different and personally I like it better than the ipod.
