Night Light

i went on sc4 site and downloaded the update and then i tried to download the the other update for the night lights  and this is what it says invalid somthing and it didnt work what can be wrong ive done all this twice already...plz help??

Call EA direct....and complaine till you burst into flames...you will get what u wnat....refer to the telephone number in your book that came with the game........and when they say they may record you for quality control purposes... tell them you are also recording them......they will lickity-split respond....after all.....SimCity Societies is about to be released....they need your business.

Do you have Rush Hour/Deluxe version of the game?  After you update is the Simcity 4.exe version 1.1.638.0?  After you try the SC4update4BAT.exe check the SimCity 4.exe version to see if it is now 1.1.640.0, if it is then the update took.

In the "Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps" folder is a file named "SimCity 4.exe", if you hover the mouse pointer over the name, a tool tip should pop-up with the properties. One of the properties is the version number.

If you don't have the tool tip option turned on, then right click on the file name, and choose properties, then find the version number

Then you need to install the SKU update to the game, before you can install the SC4update4BAT.exe.

Do you have the American version? If so, you will need the SKU 1 from the website, otherwise take the other ones.

I have heard rumors that a cracked game won't take the update either.

Cracked games are games that used a CDkey program.Instead of the CD key on the book.

Then you need the "Update_SKU1_to_P1_B638.exe", with that you should be able to update to version 1.1.638.0, from there you can use the night light update to Version 1.1.640.0.

If you're using the patch (aka, crack) to let you play the game without the CD, you won't be able to update your game and you will never see any night lights.

Cracked is illegal, or pirated installations.
