Hey everyone! Here is update 41! This is the last update until the new year! It is update 1 of 2 of this county.

For the first time, I have included sunken rail and sunken highways. That is all that will be included in this part of the 2 updates of this county. And also for the first time, I have created a county with lots of cities into one tile. This is called Goodson County.

If you have any comments, questions or tips for me, please, dont hesitate to tell me. I hope you enjoy this update.

The sunken railroad looks really nice in the rural area. I also like all the labels for your roads and highways. Especially seeing I-134 in another CJ. 4.gif Hopefully that means I-34 is somewhere nearby helping one to get to the state of Massopax. 4.gif

The sunken rail integrates well with the countryside. 4.gif

As for the highway, it looks good too! But there appears to be a lump in it... Perhaps flattening it out with some street tiles?

some very interesting flora mods, very nice. I see another fan of the Columbus terrain mod as well! LOL we could all start a thread...

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

Hey everyone! Well, being bored and all, I screwed around with the effects on Irfanview. I think I stumbled upon something. Well yes or no, do you like the effect to the picture below? Which one?

The top one has a very clear effect. The other one looks like it was laminated w/ something. Just curious, how did you get those roads straight when you cross the highway? I like the work you did.

The top one looks like a really poor-quality Google Earth overview. The second one offers more visibility, but isn't really particularly interesting.

I prefer the top one. The bottom one looks simply like the brightness was set too high.

Though I don't think either would be good to use all the time. Once in awhile is fine though. 4.gif

Ahh raised or sunken railways are always a good idea but there are a few points I don't like:

    - Don't use walls at the very flat parts of the sunken railway -

    - on the pic with the poles you laid the railway in a trench then get out of the trench with a very  steep slope then over the highway and again back on flat ground.

    Not good at all:

Stay with the railway in the trench and lead the highway over the railway. If necessary increase the elevation of the street. It is always the street / road / avenue / highway taht goes up and down, never the railway!

Check my tutorial (link is in my sig) to learn why

Another thing I don' t link is the bump of the highway at the I-134 sign. just keep it flat in the trench - I really don't see any reason for such a bump.

Despite of that I like those pics - lots of nice details to the left and right of the railway / highway!

    Happy New Year 2008
